Paranoid Marvin
This truely is a CompactFlash card suitable for the almighty himself! *Note, this is not actual size Kingston's new lineup of 'Ultimate' CompactFlash cards come in at 2, 4 and 8GB. But most importantly they are fast! The write speed is up to 266x, which Kingston claims is "twice the minimum sustained write speed previously available in the Ultimate line." Unfortunately, they are a tad expensive, at $83, $144, or $280 respectively. I would just buy it so I can tell people I have "the ultimate CompactFlash card", but that's just me Full details available here.

erbic
Spammers suck. Get out. Please... pay attention to who you're talking to. This isn't spam, it's a news thing by a member of the News Team. Idiot. @PM: Not very Mac-related.... I'd like to have one of these just for the big capacity, but it's just a bit pricey.
Guest Ramm
Spammers suck. Get out. In case you hadn't noticed, only members of the News Team and Adminstrators, etc. can post in the Front Page news section. That means only trusted individuals can post here... These things are a tad pricey... I would rather buy a much cheaper USB flash thumb drive.

Ictinike
My question is.... Why oh why do we care? Other then portable boots of our OS.... Why we care?
John the Geek
I suppose the best question is would my camera write to it that fast, or am I putting a NASCAR engine in a Ford Escort? EDIT: My question is.... Why oh why do we care?Other then portable boots of our OS.... Why we care? It's technology, it's the same thing that powers iPods, and eventually - Macs in the form of a solid-state HD. Imagine your OS booting in half a second, saving a huge file instantly. Flash drives are quickly becoming more important for saving power and adding speed to portable devices. These advances bring those things closer to us.=)
