68 "Bugs" and Counting

After only two weeks on the shelves, iPhone enthusiasts at AppleHound have already begun to discover various minor bugs in the otherwise rock-solid user interface. In an effort to bring these issues to Apple's attention, they have compiled a comprehensive list of over 68 glitches. Issues range from minor screen hick-ups to complete application crashes. Many of the documented "bugs" require a very specific arrangement of steps to be reproduced, while some are relatively easy to replicate.

In addition, many of the so-called "bugs" may actually be following the application behavior guidelines set by Apple. For instance, when exiting "silent mode," the iPhone produces no sound to verify that "audible mode" has been activated, as is the case with most other cell phones. Poor application load times and supposed minor mistakes in the graphical user interface, such as a single misaligned text character in the "stocks" widget, have also been categorized as glitches but may not be deemed by Apple as actual issues.

Apple iPhone Battery Patch

One very serious bug in particular has caught Apple's attention. It is reported that nearly 60% of iPhone users are complaining about incomplete battery charges. According to AppleInsider, Apple plans to remedy the issue in a software update that should be available soon. Apple spokespeople have stated that the issue is purely cosmetic. Allegedly, the iPhone's lithium ion cells are indeed receiving a complete charge, but a minor glitch causes the iPhone's battery meter to report an incorrect reading.

Despite Apple's claim, those who have used Apple's iPhone update are reporting that their batteries are in fact lasting longer periods of time.

Haha, we're still waiting for the first one to come out over here! :(

Depending where "over here" is Apple's supposedly "2nd gen." 3G model will be the only option in your region. So you simply HAVE to wait. Period.

Free market this is called, isn't it?

I noticed that "battery" glitch with mine as well where I plug in the iPhone to charge and it starts up as 3/4 full and then drops to 1/2 full or more. Then while it is charging, it makes it up to being full and when I unplug it it showst that it is 90% full.

Also, on a random note from the topic, I am having a problem with STUCK PIXELS. I need to exchange my iPhone tomorrow for a new one (my Apple store has PLENTY in stock now. No 4GB iPhones though but who blames them.) I tested it out by using a black picture to view my screen and it is FILLED with stuck pixels. It looks like I am looking at a picture of the night starry sky. The pixels are small and hard to see but they are there.

i just looked at mine right now and i do have one stuck pixel, maybe two, but they are so miniscule that it wouldnt make a difference for me to go complain to apple about. if someone has to point something out to me that needs to be fixed then its not a big deal to me really....

One or two MAYBE for me. Mine has at least 30 and I'm not joking. For me, I can't stand having a $600 flawed product and be fine about it.

this article is so damn bias, if you are going to refer to the phone as "rock-solid" and the bugs as "minor" then you shouldn't have bothered writing this blurp.

a faulty device is a faulty device no matter what. inconvenience comes in small packages, and if i just paid $600 fricking dollars for this phone, any bug, no matter how small, will be EXTREMELY LARGE... I'm not gonna even touch the battery issue...

the fact is that in order to make money fast, Steve Jobs pulled a Bill Gates...or APPLE pulled a MICROSOFT...

do you know what i mean...

He was basing it off what he read, I assume. Don't attack him when he is just telling back what he heard. Takuro is not the Apple-Super-Fanboy type of person...
