Of course from first i got so many error after install like -System Config File '/com.apple.boot.plist' not found, i search about solution at the www.insanelymac.com, i can got so many ideas, before you will start install you must use Disk Utility for making a partition and under Option chouse "Master Boot Record" instead of 'Guid Partition Table'. So read carefully the uphuck how to install and install only your needed drivers... thanks to all... no i have a brobleme with my Wireless, it's not detected...Any solution plz???? ameris_cyning
Was it absolutely necessary to bring a topic that is a year and a half old back to life? Also, you are looking for the Leopard installation forum, not the Tiger installation forum. Guest
I don't think that Leopard exactly works.. or Tiger when i tried, however i've never seen another person manage to install on my laptop.. didn't think it worked and it doesn't seem like this person visits insanelymac often.. Well sorry.. what can i do then? Since it would be nice to know how this was managed.. start a new topic with the success message as a quote? ameris_cyning
There are many ways to get Leopard to work. In fact, it is much easier to install and run Leopard over Tiger. Well sorry.. what can i do then? Since it would be nice to know how this was managed.. start a new topic with the success message as a quote? Yes, considering that the thread is pretty old and the person who made the thread is now inactive, this would have been the most ideal situation, because he is not around to answer the question. kriss13
First, there are still a lot of users using Tiger (like myself) since the Leo lacks support for old hardware (like centrino and ati 9700 etc). Of course geting kexts from tiger would scrue the whole install (panics and 100% transparent menubar etc) Second... why do you mind people asking for help in an old post... I mean... really.. what kind of answer would you expect for asking "Why did you bring up an old post?" I find your intervention rather useless... So, to get to the real problmes (and the purpose of this forum).. My lapy has fujistsu-siemens amilo m 1425 (google for detailed specs), close to what XFire has. Pentium M 1.8 ATI 9700 128ram 1gig ram I run Jas 10.4.8 with 10.4.9 update (8.8.1 kernel). Try to select only the kext that are obvious to you, leave the rest (like the sse2,loginwindow etc) You may tweak later once the osx is up and running. I have all hardware working good (and 1280x800 qe/ci via callisto b006) I'll try Uphuck distro just to see the 8.9.1 kernel for 10.4.9.. one weird thing, "about mac" shows 600mhz for cpu (10.4.5 showed corect as 1.8ghz).. hows yours? Guest
I think i read a while ago that sometimes the wrong mhz can be shown even though it is actually running faster.. i am unsure though..
