dutchiee (=
heyy i have recently gottin the uphuck 1.3 dvd, and so far very pleased with the installable options . just a question tho, after installing the AMD kexts for my 4200+ Am2 and the AMD sse3 patch/kernel (mine is sse3, cpu-z says so ) it reboots.. the grey apple screen comes on and it hangs, so i went into verbose mode to see it hung at "started cpu 01". so i tried to install the universal patch/kernel thing with no avail as it did the same thing. i have tried going into verbose mode, safe mode, single user mode, cpus=1 , cpus=2 and all that except nothing will fix it. the dvd says it is installing 10.4.9 so which patches for my cpu do u think i should install? i have tried to 2 main ones, and it takes so long to reinstall another 2 times. should i try the AMD sse2 one? or the other universal ones?. i also installed some patches for my motherboard, the asus m2n-sli deluxe (nforce 570 chipset) and yeah. how would i go about fixing this? hellboy123
same problem here, Asus a6t turion tl-52, nvidia go7600. I tried SSE2 and SSE3 both, verbose, and all those things but nothing works. After installing like 6 times i just quit, and wait till a next version of uphuck will be on a newsserver.... rob356
I'm sorry to say you will have to reinstall 1 more time but hopefully only once. When you boot from the DVD open disk utility. Select the disk OSX is on. Look at the bottom right corner and see if it is GUID Partition table. If it is that's a problem, it should be MBR, if it is MBR you are lucky and you can skip the following instructions. To make it MBR click on options and select Master Boot Record. Hit ok. Back in the main window hit partition. All data will get erased from the disk. If it was MBR try erasing the VOLUME, only the volume. Now the drive should be MBR, follow the next step. Now reinstall with only, 10.4.9 AMD, Universal Kernel -3, Verbose mode patch, and loginwindow patch. Tell me if it works! pnlrogue1
Hi, I've been having the same problem with the Uphuck 1.3 on my system, too Checked the MBR and it was set right, renamed the partition as Tiger (as I've seen that Leopards sometimes need a partition named Leopard) and installed with the Universal and the 2 patches you mentioned by I always hang at Started CPU 01 UNLESS I try the cpus=1 flag, then it only gets to the line before that. Going to try and get a 10.5 installer (either patched or get it patched for AMD) and see if I have any luck (not hopeful...) Any other advise? Thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/56429-hang-at-started-cpu-01/#findComment-639107 Share on other sites
