AndrewNZ
Just a quick word to express my thanks. I was unable to get my SigmaTel STAC 9271D audio working until I learned of your application. Couldn't have been simpler. Weeks of fruitless searching and failures have finally ended. You are a God. Best wishes, Andy.

rschultz101
great start! couple of ideas.... right now it's a one way street,... would be nice,... - to be able to go back to previous kext, - have a list of kext show, what was changed,... - script version, when things go bad, especially with graphics drivers,... to be able to install/revert kext at shell script, aka F8 -s (single user mode), invoke shell, script, and chose, from kext to revert or install,... - an automated, config file editor/patcher,... big thanks, I'll check it out, once I have a chance. SticMAC™
Just ONE question?........ Is it at all possible to program it so that you can select the destination?! ie. choose a different volume, or 2nd HDD, sometimes one is installing to a second partition or HDD and have to load a kext during dualboot, then it will save LOTS of time! I think THAT would make it the ULTIMATE kext Installer!? SticMAN
Panik
Is it at all possible to program it so that you can select the destination?! ie. choose a different volume, or 2nd HDD, If I'm not mistaken, you can edit the script before running it in advanced mode... T Anderson
kexthelper beta7 just destroyed my entire os x installation. i dropped 3 kexts, supplied my password, and clicked install. afterwards all the kexts in the extensions folder disappeared, and soon after so did all the files in the libraries folder. pretty awesome. thinkr
Okay, I know this is gonna sound lame, but, what exactly are kexts? kernel extensions, or in other word drivers. More on this... so Kext helper copies *.kext files to the /System/Library/Extensions folder on the destination drive. Now which file is responsible for telling the boot loader to load thoes specific drivers? Does it require finding Hardware Id's? Does Kext helper Do this step? Is it a different boot loader file for different devices. Video, Lan, Audio? Is EFI studio reqired as a next step? er... I know EFI is for the open firmware... but i remember somone mentioning it needs Hardware id's to load the video kext correctly... is this right? I found this is this correct? for every kext? "sunriis try to unload kext, and than load it with ket -t: sudo -s cd /System/Library/Extensions kextunload RealtekR1000.kext kextload -t RealtekR1000.kext" It looks like this is a console command..., but how would you get the system to autoload it? com.apple*. file? please explain...? Please answer these for Questions and you get a gold star!
ReK_
Just a minor bug to report. When the user account has no password (ie, entering blank on password request works), the Easy Install button remains greyed out when there is no password entered. Perhaps bring up a prompt for the password after hitting that button instead of requiring it beforehand? For now I'm just going to temporarily set a password.
