apowerr
I really dont like the new Finder at all. It looks like Aero and theyve ruined the awesome Music Pictures Videos tabs with something that looks just like Favorite Links from Windows. Sabr
I actually like the new Finder. The bar down the left makes it seem really easy to browse files, and the Quick Look integration is pretty cool! - Sb. Takuro
I definitely like the new organization of the Finder's sidebar. However, I don't like the extreme resemblance between the Finder and iTunes 7. I don't really see Cover Flow's real use as long as there are big thumbnails and Spotlight available in each window. Then again, after I see the WWDC video on iTunes later tonight and get to see all of this stuff in action, my opinion might change. The transparent menu bar just bothers me. There's really no other use of transparency in any other part of the GUI, so it looks out of place. Unless Apple does a very direct rip-off of Microsoft's Aero, it looks out of place. In my opinion, this should be called OS 11, not OS X. They dropped Aqua and did too many things to the GUI and to the underpinnings of the OS itself to associate it with 10.0, 10.1, 10.2, 10.3, and 10.4. I had a feeling that they would drop the unified white and blue theme of previous OS X releases in favor of something resembling the iPhone's GUI. (Lol. A Safari 3 bug found already. Ai Haibara
I think Leopard's Finder is way better than the Tiger one, it looks very good. I also like the new dock, it's cool. But.. Seriously, the bar on the top it's absolutely weird. Maybe it's just the wallpaper they chose to use for this beta, but I think that an Illuminous-like bar was going to be way better. Now... Let's hope the beta will be leaked soon, I just can't wait to try it Sherry Haibara Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/53623-updated-leopard-info/#findComment-382491 Share on other sites
EFI
I think that the new finder is pretty good. It is definately much easier to navigate than the current one. Although I dont think I would be using cover flow for every folder in the finder though, it would be good for pictures and videos only IMO. That being said, since Leopard has 512 x 512 max icon size...I think it would be vastly easier to avoid coverflow altogether in the finder. The new DVD Player looks extremely slick IMO: http://www.apple.com/macosx/leopard/features/dvdplayer.html I'm not really liking the transparent menubar at the top, let just hope there is an option to turn off the transparency. I like the new dock though...it looks really good, and stacks is a really nice addition though. Overall for leopard, I like it. I wouldn't say love it, but I like it better than Tiger, so its a plus sign for Apple. I was really expecting some awesome core animation implementations into finder itslef, but nothing like that was shown. Maybe something's up, who knows. Colonel Ingus
4 things I'll absolutely love about Leopard; Stacks - a new feature that lets you group icons within the dock. A new special folder has been added to the dock called Downloads. This is a GREAT idea Leopard will be 64 bit from top to bottom (even Cocoa). WebClip - enables users to “scissor” a portion of any Web page, and then turn it into a standalone Dashboard widget. Apple is so creative Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/53623-updated-leopard-info/#findComment-382511 Share on other sites

Unless Apple does a very direct rip-off of Microsoft's Aero, it looks out of place. Couldn't agree more. Is there even a need for it to be transparent? I think I'd prefer to have it solid, in my opinion. However, I am really liking Safari 3. When you search, it highlights all the words that contain the string in a really cool way - and I love how it darkens the page so they are easy to find. - Sb. Paulo Greimel
My God! How much time (if it's possible) will take to have it in x86? Loved the new Finder but, what is the transparent bar, it's horrible, kind of vista, urgh! Colonel Ingus
Did anyone notice that Leopard is only going to cost 129.00 (just like Tiger was) Blows the doors off of vista that sell for upwards of 400.00 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/53623-updated-leopard-info/#findComment-382595 Share on other sites
