lexje
Hi everybody, I'm fairly new to this all so please bear with me :-) I have succesfully installed Snow Leopard on my mini-311c. (ION Atom based netbook) I have some doubts as to what video resolution this machine can achieve. On a similar system (Acer Revo 3600) I run 1080p HD movies without a problem. (Linux Ubuntu with vdpau) I would expect this to be possible with SL too. It does not work however. How can I double check my system is using the correct nvidia drivers? Is there anything such as lspci (in linux)? Is there anything like nvidia-settings or an alternative to check settings and drivers? Thanks you! WhiteMeat2002
If you have purchased a Net-gear WN311B BCM4321 in hopes to get Airport up and running. Hope this helps any Newbs like myself get it going =) Thanks to our German Friend this script works great. This is the method that worked for me in 10.6.2 & 10.6.3 Download the script then download 4311.kext (google) it. take the kext you downloaded off google, drop it on top of (app called Kextutilty) -google that too. it will install your 4311.kext to your extra folder and your HD extensions folder for you and fixes permissions as well. Once you've done this restart your computer to make sure it will take affect. Run the script by putting it in this location /HD/user then open Terminal and type the fallowing. sudo ./bcm43xx_enabler.sh it will ask you is this the right location you press (enter) it will ask you, do you want to back this folder up. Just fallow the instructions the script does all the hard work for you. Once its completed I recommend repairing your disk permissions run off your USB or purchased SnoW Leo. Hope i helped anyone who was having issues. . . Thank you MACSMART for the script helped me set the ID's without typing all that {censored}. opossum3e
Update: 2009-04-29 4:39PM Since it seems to be sort of difficult for new users to edit kext-files, I've written a small script which automatically adds the PCI IDs of all Broadcom wireless cards, which are AirPort compatible. And this is where I need your feedback: Please post your Broadcom device IDs in this topic, if you have simply added them to the AppleAirPortBrcm4311.kext. Then I can add them to my script so new users can simply download the script and get their Broadcom wireless card to work. So please post the PCI ID and maybe a little description (at least if the card is 802.11a, b or g). Note: Only post the PCI ID if you simply have to add the ID to AppleAirPortBrcm4311.kext in order to get it working! If interest i upload here WiFi kext for 10.6 on HP 550 (with ID replacement 4315) http://www.2shared.com/file/12843271/3a6b6...now_HP_550.html bye

drho2004
Hello! So i have this HP Mini 110 and i have iAtkos 10.5.5 installed in it. Everythi9ng works except the damn wifi, it came with an Atheros half size mini PCI and after much research i found out that that chipset is a dead end in the hackintosh world. Some more research and I found out hat the Broadcom 4312 would work, specifically ones pulled from a dell, and the osx will see it as a native airport card. So i found one one ebay, bought it, popped open the mini (not that hard BTW) and booted and..... BOOOOO!! I get a bios error on boot!! 104 system error unrecognized wireless card system halted!! what gives!! any way around this? If i have to flash the BIOS....I really do not want to have to install Windows for it...any help would be greatly appreciated!!
unvaluablespace
hey i was wondering if there was any way to get my BCM4313 wireless N card working? ive tried your script but to no avail (maybe i did it wrong?) although terminal said it was succesful & i rebooted. no luck so i tried adding in the device & vendor ids myself, but no luck with that either (maybe i did that wrong too lol, but snow leopard booted up fine without no erros lol) lastly, i tried the whole rebranding trick with ubuntu but my card wasnt listed. are there any other hacks or tricks i could try? another user on this forum, Vampirehunter_D seems to know some hacking and such, and even has a forum where he managed to get the ethernet card working via a modified kext, but so far no luck with wifi. crossing my fingers for him and myself lol. by the way, im using an S10-3T lenovo laptop. thanks alot. uketernity
Hi All Im trying (anf failing) to get wifi working on a fujitsu siemens amilo li 1818. Ive replaced the original wifi card with a Dell 1505 BCM4321 which shows up if i run lspci from terminal, but never shows up in system prefs, or network prefs. It also shows up if I use DPCIManager as a broadcom card but the model is unknown. I feel so close to getting this working, ive tried so may different posts now and different kexts. Surely if it shows up as being connected then there must be a way to get it working. Ive tested it in windows and know it works. Can anyone help? p.s had to do the pin 20 trick to get the card to turn on as the switch didnt work. Oli
