54mbps
I have read a few posts similar to this, but I am a "noob" at this. What would be the best app to run vista on a PowerPC? (iMac G5) Thanks PS. I have it in an ISO file, I am not sure if this makes it easier or harder to install.
macgirl
I think that none of the emulators fulfills the Vista Requirments.
mac-mini
you could probaly run linux in virtual PC and in linux run VMware but it would be very slow
wingk1314
don't even bother trying. You're basically asking for emulation. I've tried XP on all sorts of PPC programs in my old G4 (1.33Mhz) and it was CRAWLINGGGGGGGGGGG. (Well virtual PC was 'acceptable') anyway... I don't think any programs meet the requirements for running vista anyway. Tough luck mate.
sarahbau
I'd recommend getting a cheap PC instead. MS requires the Business or Ultimate version of Vista to (legally) run in virtualization, and on a PowerPC, even a fast G5 would just run very slowly due to it being emulated. A cheap PC would be much faster, and probably not much more expensive!
MacApprentice
A cheap pc is the way to go. get yourself a MB with everything integrated, some have DX9 graphic chip (aero requirement)
