hi folks,

i'm new to both this community and the mac, i'm a long time linux user :(

i've setup a tiny network at home: adsl router, imac, linux box.

playing with X11 stuff on the imac i've accomplished the following:

1) run any app on the linux pc and forward its display to the imac

2) run a X11-based app (gimp, xcalc, openoffice.org) on the imac and forward its display to the linux pc

what i can't get, it is to run a native mac os app (like iPhoto or whatever) and have its display forwarded to the linux pc. the only way i can get something similar, is to start a vnc server on the imac and connect from the linux pc, which gives poor performances and the need to exclusive use of the imac while connected.

anyone has clues or pointers to info about how to get my goal? any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks in advance.

stefano

thank you for you reply anyway.

in the emantime i've found that vineserver can be configured to handle multiple displays through multiple instances of the server, so i can at least control apps on my mac from my linux box, while my daughter or my wife are using the mac.
