snowmen
Hi, I'm running a P4 2.8G (without SSE3) now... I was wondering, if I change the CPU to Celeron 2.66G with SSE3, will it be faster? (I mean a lot faster)??? Thx Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/4262-current-p4-28g-or-celeron/ Share on other sites
miranda363
not necessarily ive run it on sse2 pentium and sse3 celeron and to be honest the pentium seemed nippier by far but i havent benchmarked them i think your other hardware makes the real difference where speed is concerned though Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/4262-current-p4-28g-or-celeron/#findComment-28276 Share on other sites
Velvet Nightmare
Depends on if you have the money to blow on an SSE3 proc. If you do, the investment is worth it, but don't go out of your way to do so, otherwise just stick with Maxxus's patches. Wetcat
I am using Celeron with 2.8 Ghz and SSE3. Benched with Xbench 43 Points overall result. As i imagine i got in the CPU part around 60 - 65. Overall result in Xbench is not full comparable due to QE working or SATA and so on. Would be the best if someone in the forum has the same system just with the celeron.
