Zizou
So I downloaded that new Jas 10.4.8 dvd, not that I really need it right now, manual getting 8.8.1 + with all the other things is no big deal anymore >_> But when I downloaded the files, checked the folder, and saw like 30 rar's.. =/ and each contains an ISO, so I searched, saw it was normal, but how do you burn this? Just open toast and make on ISO by just burning just all the things to one disc or what? (and which ISOs do I need to patch with the PPFs?) hecker
Those files all belong together and need to be extracted to form the WHOLE file. What you need to do is find the FIRST file of the package, usually the file with the extension .rar or .001, double-click it and you will get a window with the contents (should be an ISO file in your case). Then you can press the file name (iso) with the right mouse button and select "extract to folder" or something similar. You will have the file in your HDD after the extraction is done. You can erase the rar files afterwards. This procedure may be slightly different if you are in Windows or Mac OSX. Usually stuffit (standard OSX extraction app) will extract the file right after you double-click it. Hope this helps, hecker Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/42601-jas-1048-easy-dumb-question-p/#findComment-304611 Share on other sites

Zizou
Yep, working thanks. Even though there seems to be a little bug with stuffit (optical bug that is) since the file size was like 500 mb once it finished, but right now it's still growing LOL. Thanks for the help though. =d Edited February 16, 2007 by Zizou Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/42601-jas-1048-easy-dumb-question-p/#findComment-304639 Share on other sites
Mitcheg
Maybe I'm missing some grey matter but I cannot follow this from end to end. In my left hand I have downloaded the jas 10.4.8 image. It is 200+ . rar files .. In my right hand I have a DVD.. how do I get the DVD image intact onto the DVD ? I have opened one of the 200+ rar files with toast. and it creates an ISO image 3 subdirectories down for me - assuming I do this 200+ times, ( lord), then waht do I do wtih ALL these files .. sorry to appear stupid but .rar *( and so many ) is new to me ( and frustrating ) any help greatly appreciated ! By the way i do not have a PC/Windows. This may be an easy/dumb question, but modifying ktext files etc is way easier than this first essential and as far as I can see undocumented step Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/42601-jas-1048-easy-dumb-question-p/#findComment-309705 Share on other sites

This may be an easy/dumb question, but modifying ktext files etc is way easier than this first essential and as far as I can see undocumented step You need to get WinRaR (or UnRarX in os x) when you click on one of the .rar files the program will know it's part of a certain number of archives and unpack them all. You'll then be left with an .iso image which you burn to DVD.
