bierbo24
Is there any way to get qe and ci work on a ati x1950 pro or is anybody currently working on it? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/42432-ati-x1950-pro-qi-ci-support/ Share on other sites
danjamin
I would like to know the answer to this as well... I've got an almost fully functional native install of OS X, and the only thing i have left to deal with is getting qe and ci working... Thanks to everyone here for getting me on the right tracks with everything else Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/42432-ati-x1950-pro-qi-ci-support/#findComment-304603 Share on other sites
yoyo1234
Ok, im a little confused about the current state of the x1950 pro. People say they have got it to be recognized. What does that mean. AS for me all i get is a blue screen with no mouse. In -v mode it recognizes the card or at least identifies it, but it hangs at the blue screen. How do you fix this? Im using tubgirl 10.4.8 with the ati kext. (i would use Jas but its evil, it hates my mobo -P5N-E SLI) Anybody know how to get past the blue screen with the x1950 pro??? Thanks! BarryBar
The current state of things is that you can get your sytem to load the ATINDRV.kext with the help of Natit but not the one from the Neo installer. You can download from this forum the version which is called natit edited. In this thread to be exact. http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=33007 That will load the x1950 pro card properly. What you wont get at the moment is QE and CI because the ATIRADEONX1000.kext does not support the R570 chipset which is the base for the x1950 pro. macbrush
I ended up selling my X1950 Pro and got myself a 7600GT instead. I even tried X1650XT, but then that card is now in my brother's gaming PC. BarryBar
I probably will end up selling. But I would like to buy a good directx 10 card since I find the option of gaming in windows also important. So I am waiting what Apple will supoort form nVidia. How does your 7600 GT do compaired to the x1950 pro? nagal
JCool method will also get the X1950Pro to load, support dual dvi and resoltuion changes but no QE/CI I am planning on selling mine too and go with a X1900XT. I pulled the trigger too fast when buying the card. macbrush
Yeah, no QE/CI really sxxks. For my 7600GT card, I have dual monitor (but no DVI), QE/CI and resolution changes supported, so all is good. The only thing that doesn't work is AGP which is cause by my Intel chipset, but then although Quartz Extreme, and Core Image is slow in comparison (but still very usable), I found almost no speed penalty in real world OpenGL applications. In PC gaming area, X1950 Pro definitely run faster than 7600GT. My brother's X1650 XT runs GRAW much more smoother than my 7600GT disregarding the fact that I have a P4 3GHz plus 4GB of RAM and he only has a K7 2500+ with 1.25GB of RAM. So I would say X1950 Pro would be even faster! fLUx1337
Is getting QE/CI to work on a X1950Pro been ignored due to doubts that it is possible? Nobody tried yet? or is somebody working on it? Whats the chances of QE/CI working great on a X1950Pro in the future? Cheers! rdougan
I was using the x1950 Pro but as I couldn't get full support i changed back to my old 7300GS. It is a lot faster so I will probably sell my x1950 Pro.
