I'm typing this from my dying Dell Latitude d600. Beautiful laptop for OS X. I had the installation down to the disc plus 3 patches for a near fully working install (Had an old ATI card, no QI/CE. and no PHB driver for some reason). Since it was dying for the nth time I told dell I wanted a new one, I've been though 4 mobo's and plenty of other parts... Well they sent me a d620.. With the damn Sigmatel 9200. Damn it.

So here is my plea for help. I know it won't currently work. I also know we do have a ton of talent around here. I've been browsing and I haven't seen anything (on the positive side) new about it in several months. Is there anyone who will take up the challenge?? Or hell, I have free time and learn very quickly, I can learn to write the damn driver myself if someone can give me a few pointers and send me in the right direction..

We could make a lot of folks happy with this driver. Plus I won't have to set Dell headquarters on fire (they also have my Red Stapler..).

Please? Really really super please?

Oh, and what the hell do I have to do to the GMA950 to make it not suck balls? I've seen a ton of posts on the 900, and gotten the idea the 950 should work, I just can't actually find instructions to enable it not to suck. (Bastards we're supposed to put the Quatro in my d620, although I'm fighting that with them first thing tomorrow..) I'd really love the graphics not to tear like mad..

Thanks in advance,

~LLama

Update!! To all the driver guys out there does any of this {censored} from here (scroll down a bit) make any sense at all? There might be a somewhat working driver for the 9200 on freebsd?!?

Well I know it won't do as is, but it's got to be a head start for someone who does that stuff. :o

And, err, thanks for the help :P Sorry I'm not used to messing with gfx cards. ATI worked just fine, with a little callisto love I could even change resolutions, although I didn't need to.
