Dusik
after several attempts i had to manage to install 10.4.8 on asrock conroe 945g-dvi. everything seems to work (after LAN and Audio patches) but system still has an issue. it goes to sleep well (fans go off) but upon waking up the monitor does no respond. i tried to find the answer around the forum but with no any positive results yet. any clue how to fix it? dvornik
I have the same problem (asus p5b). I believe it's a Natit issue. Have you installed Natit? Dusik
i don't have Natit either. i use on-board adapter GMA950. someone said to activate "Suspend to RAM" feature in BIOS. i did. did not change anything, unfortunately. Dusik
i guess this is a 945g chip issue. i tried 10.4.6 on asus 915 mobo and did not have such a problem. eberts
I can confirm that it's a 4.8 issue cause with 4.6/4.7 it used to work for me. Dusik
yes, i can confirm now too. "no wake up" is a 10.4.8 bug. i tried 10.4.6 and the system wakes up without problem at all. but... with 10.4.6 i have a "boot issue". so, what we have now: 1) 10.4.8. patched with Disk Utility - boots OK but a monitor does not wake up after sleep. 2) 10.4.6. sleeps and wakes up OK but it has a boot problem, i.e. "b0 error" comes up after POST and that's it, the system stalls. it only boots OK with DVD in the drive. What are the easiest solutions? 1) How to fix "wake" problem in 10.4.8 or 2) How to fix "boot" problem in 10.4.6????? 10.4.6 would be fine for me, but it needs to be fixed somehow. Unfortunately, i'am no programmer and only capable to follow instructions. Dusik
see my reply above. it goes to sleep just fine under 10.4.6!!! but 10.4.6 has a booting problem. i don't get it at all because i installed a 10.4.6 a while ago onto asus 915 board without problem with the same pata drive. i am confused now completely Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/40336-monitor-does-not-wake-up-after-sleep/#findComment-288789 Share on other sites
Dusik
Sleep mode should work, because power supply provides 2 and 5V on the board even with all fans off. Dan Hammans
I'm glad I'm not the only one having this problem. My system won't wake up either, 10.4.8 is the first OSX version I've installed on my PC so I can't comment on previous releases, but it DOESN'T work for me now. My system is an Athlon64, nForce3, AGP 6800GT running Natit. My USB Bluetooth adapter, on-board firewire, audio, and an external GA-311 Netgear gigabit ethernet adapter all work perfectly. Anyone know why this is? I've mucked with just about every possible setting in my bios and combinations in the energy saver control panel with no luck. -D Edited January 30, 2007 by Dan Hammans Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/40336-monitor-does-not-wake-up-after-sleep/#findComment-288897 Share on other sites

Dusik
Where can I change S1 mode to S3? Btw, I installed 10.4.7 and "monitor wake up" and "no boot from hard drive" issues have gone. But instead I have a problem now with the audio driver which used to work under 10.4.8. ( Go figure.... One more question. Is there any difference installing x86 and booting from a SATA DVD and hard drive? I am playing with IDE devices now but in the future want to switch to SATA drives only. And one more question. Am I able to use Software update from Apple? I don't mean OSX version update, it's not possible, I know that. What about Security, Java, iTune etc? Will they crash the system?
