murcielago585
I'm sorry if this is a n00b question, but could anyone help me find out how to send a file directly from my mac to another mac that are not on the same network through the net. I've never really used FTP, but what i was thinking of doing is i guess make my comp like a server so my friends could connect to my comp and take the files. I just want a fast and easy method of doing this. Just asking for opinion from anyone who knows about this instead of me ahving to upload my files slowly on free online storage. thanks in advance. xtraa
I think the easiest way would be to install hamachiX and boom... you are in the same network http://homepage.mac.com/lxr/homepage/spaceants/hamachix/ Cheers, xtraa Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/40289-computer-to-computer-transfer/#findComment-287642 Share on other sites

xtraa
yes thats exactly what hamachiX is for. But it is kind of VNC connection. So if you want to speed it up a little, you could also simply try iChat, Skype or AdiumX. xtraa
ichat sounds good to me Great. But you have to register a free AIM (aka AOL InstantMessenger) account to use it. Takuro
I wouldn't recommend using iChat for larger files though. A lot of time transfers can go bad at the last minute. Then again, in all my past experiences, it's been iChat to AIM transfers. iChat to iChat might work smoother.
