Pescador12
Hi I'm trying to install OsX86 in my Acer Aspire 5051, AMD Turion 64 (I think it has SSE3), with ATI X1100... I'm using this guide: http://osx86.theplaceforitall.com/howto/ So I have Windows XP and Ubuntu, and I made a primary partition for this OS, I dd the tiger-x86-flat.img image file ok, after that I configured the Grub bootloader so I can select the partition. But when select this partition a black screen appears, wich says "Starting up..." but nothing happens. What can this be?? Also I'm not sure if the partition can be formated in FAT32, before the dd, which I did, because in partition magic theres is no AF or HFS... Can anybody help?? Thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/39816-install-from-image/ Share on other sites

Soündless
changing the settings requires a re boot at least, i don know of any software hat directly modifys your bios when you are in an os. it requires the bios. i would post a new topic in vmware seing as i run natively Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/39816-install-from-image/#findComment-301492 Share on other sites

juunbug
Mac installs cant use windows drives and vice-versa. Use something like acronis in windows, partition your disk in windows to have one partition fat16, the OS X install dvd will be able to see that partition.
