Fixed it.

Download another tool from a previous links-section called bye-bye-dashboard. Disabled and re)enabled the dashboard and it works again.

Re-installed iStat and and that too works now. Weird.

This 10.4.8 is really starting to {censored} me off. First the games that crash after a few seconds/minutes and now this.

The link for SuperDuper did not work for me the first time I clicked it, but it did the second time. So far so good, even though the choices that you are able to use are limited on the free version. Anyways it is a cool backup tool and something I was looking for too, so I am giving it a try for my first full HD backup. Regarding the iStat Pro, that's a cool widget too. It does work on my hackintosh (well mostly since it doesnt see the fans, battery and temp data on the options), but the rest works great.

Can anyone confirm if iStat works on the hackintosh?

Thanks,

Peekay

Hmmm...this is weird but I replied to your question and the answer is not showing up. So here it is again:

The iStat is working on my hackintosh (Jas 10.4.8) and most of the options work (Memory, CPU, Network, Drives, Uptime, and Resources). The rest does not work and shows as N/A (That being Fan, Temp and Battery). But in general most of the widget works great and looks nice too. If someone knows a fix for those couple options to work please let me know, thx.

yeah, Superduper! is a great program. My dad has been using the paid version for about 6 months now and he loves it. He decided to start backing up his computers when his powerbook's hard drive died with all the family accounting on it. he took it into apple and they replaced it and all, but he wanted them to transfer his music back from his iPod and they refused, saying its against policy. I told him I could probably find a tool for it in about 30 seconds, but he decided to pester apple for about a week before he let me fix it. I think he was soo mad because almost every single song was bought on the iTunes Music Store, so he was kinda pissed that they wouldn't let him get his music back easily that he paid them for. but yeah. every one of his computer's now has a Lacie drive to back up to.
