kevin_4e
If you're a frequent user of the free online storage site, Box.net, another free alternative is out there too. DropBoks uses a similar concept and allows files as large as 50mb, as compared to Box's 10mb. It may be a little less eye catching than Box.net but it's still worth a try... Acclaimed as the best Mac OS X application ever, Quicksilver is something every Mac owner should have. Fully capable of "launching applications, manipulating files and data, running scripts or sending e-mail" in a few clicks keypresses, this is something to make everyone's computing life easier... As Apple TV (and iPhone most likely) becomes one more of the Apple products avoiding the Apple educational discounts, are they in fact fading away? Although carbon fiber seems to appear most commonly on cars, never doubt that you'll see it on a computer... Uh-oh, looks like the iPod has undergone some extreme mutations. At least it's a ... Hurry, hurry! Get your own iPhone today before it's gone... If you're familiar with the very popular Flickr, you know that there's an endless amount of photos waiting to be viewed. It's more or less the YouTube of photos. Change the way you view Flickr with Airtight's "Tag Browser..." And finally, take Craig Ferguson's word for why Apple's iPod/iPhone dominates the Zune. I guess the iPhone doesn't "zuck".

adaminc
Why would a cellphone get an educational discount?
Synaesthesia
That FLICKR tag browser is quite amazing!
kevin_4e
Thanks for the link jgrimes. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ You're right adaminc. I guess I never looked at it that way. I guess what I would say is that there was once a time where iPods were apart of the educational discount. Now how is an iPod any more educational than a cell phone? It's not. Basically I think that there's plenty of stuff they already discount that have as much to do with education as a cell phone (although there is debate with that). They discount products like their new router. Bottom line, no I don't think they should discount the iPod or iPhone, but it was interesting to see what direction they're going with their discounts. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Synaesthesia, I'm glad you liked that. I kinda ran out of blogs to feature so I threw in something totally random that I hoped others would like. Maybe I'll start throwing in a total random link for now on. munky
Hate to be pedantic, but Quicksilver gets things done in a few keypresses, and most definitely *not* clicks.
tomozj
Very true munky It's a great app, Quicksilver. It just... works! Pity about it's RAM usage though, but it's worth it. Doesn't effect me till I play games, but it's quit then. -tj
cromas
As Apple TV (and iPhone most likely) becomes one more of the Apple products avoiding the Apple educational discounts, are they in fact fading away? Oddly, Apple TV does apply for the educational discount (it's called "student discount") here in Japan. Guess they don't have consistent rules in that area. But with the exchange rate the way it is, Apple products are a steal right now.
kevin_4e
Interesting cromas. The American store is not giving any discount for Apple TV. Thanks for information.
nkm82
Megaupload.com offers up to 500MB per file too. Yousendit.com 100MB. Sendspace.com 300MB. And there's a lot more...
kevin_4e
Thanks nkm. I guess I better look for better offers next time. I liked the simplicity of this one out of most of the ones I've seen.
