I suppose I could try Microsoft Money 2007 Premium with this, but codeweavers website basically says ms money wasn't tested and probably won't work. It's the only windows only program I'd REALLY like to run in Mac OS (for security reasons)

I suggest you to use Parallels: you have to install Windows, but it's really the real working solution at the moment. I think CrossOver is still a beta...

so what, 6.0, still no cigar !!!!

they can't even get some mainstream apps from adobe to run,

so far they have not even worked with them, aka patched it,

and those are mostly 2D apps ,..... never mind 3D, aka games,

the main advantage is, not requiring to install windoze,

what is also the downfall,...

they should get the apps source code, recompile with libraries,

not reling on proprietary windoze stuff, and off a patch download,

but now if they charge $10 per app, by the time you get to 15+,

you might as well go parallels, ....

crossover 6.0, no cigar, no fire, no smoke,

remember the great dec alpha processor,...

wow, great performance,.... called them, how about you help port some of the apps,....

no you do it,.... yeah thanks,.... 2 dozen major apps would have be a good start,....

oh, the good part,.... why good,.... it will be good for mac os x,

why,.... because the major apps run on mac,... dooh,...

so it's going to be a bonus, that's why,...

but why bother,.... just my 2 bits,

cheers, Rob

No offense but what you are asking for is unrealistic.

Crossover Office isn't meant to be the end all be all for running any Windows app, and never will be.

Some of the things you mentioned they should do are show a total lack of understanding. "Somehow" they should get the source code for commercial products and re-compile them. You essentially asking them to to a full port and then charge only $10!

Support Alpha products, please. I'm pretty sure that market isn't big enough to justify the the need, their not Microsoft. And look to Wine first, if its supported on Alphas first and there is a big enough call, a port would be easy.

Codeweavers Office is what it is. No it will not run a lot of Windows apps, but if its run one you want it usually does it well.

(3D steamed based games running great here, something not YET possible with Parallels)

The 30 day demo is fully working and free so you can test your apps before buying.

If you don't want to buy you can always try your luck with Wine. Crossover Office is based on that but with a cleaned interface and tools for using it.

For me, the tools to manage icons, start menus, independent bottles, and the archive ability are worth the money.

So why bother: because SOME apps work better under Crossover Office than any other solution including Parallels and Fusion.

(Nothing is perfect for ever situation and for some the memory requirements for VM solutions isn't feasible.)
