joe75
You can try Laptopdisplay.kext but you should use the 900 package off the latest JaS and you have to use OpenGL Framework from official Apple 4.8 Run the JaS package and then swap in OpenGL Edited January 29, 2007 by joe75

whynot
Grateful for your help,np_. Here are the test results with the latest IOGraphics_NvEFI.zip. Without NVidiaEFI.kext and all Apple drivers: In ioregs.txt,I see the DisplayProductID change into 1815,rather than 0,but the DisplayVendorID remains unchanged. With NVidiaEFI.kext and all Apple drivers: System boots into black screen. the LaptopDisplay.kext seems not to be loaded properly, concluding with the ioregsWithNvidiaEFI.txt. testresult.zip

Not really sure will it work or not, but you might try put in your DevID to NVDANV20Hal or NVDANV30Hal.kext, GeForce.kext and NVDAResman.kext. Also, looks like Natit doesn't recognise your 5700 Go, you can try add an entry to the info.plist.

joshlawless
I also found that my DisplayProductID has been changed in ioreg from 0 to 1815. However, I still don't get resolution changing, or the proper screen info in syspro. I tried atting natit.kext, adding my deviceID and my device name to the list, and adding edited geforce.kext, nvda40hal.kext and nvdaresman.kext files. This wouldn't boot at all! Anyhoo, attached is my ioreg file from the boot with just the new iographicsfamily.kext, nvidiaefi.kext and laptopdisplay.kext files installed (with no ATI*.kext, geforce.kext or NV*.kext installed at all) Still seeing dependency errors in the system profiler for laptopdisplay.kext, complaining about no valid version of iographicsfamily.kext or iondrvsupport.kext ioreg.7700.txt

joshlawless
I Have been reading this forum for the last week or so and Im a little confused as to what Im suppost to do to get it to work, or at lease test it. Can some one please post instructions on what goes in what and what files that I need. Also the EDID How what when why? I have and Inspiron 8500 with a Geforce 440 Go 64mb. I seem to have gotten the Video driver to work but have the fade to white problem. I know that my system is popular does anyone have any edited Kext that I can review so I can understand what Im suppost to be doing. Thanks, Im a simi noob There are two things you need to do. First, create a custom display info file using the display utility np_ posted in post #109 (inside the file AllLaptop.zip). To do so, you will need the EDID information from your monitor, which you can obtain using the moninfo.exe file (in the windows operating system environment) which np_ posted in post #103. Once you have your EDID information, you need to use some text editor to organize it into eight character blocks like so: 000000ff ff123456 12345678 12345678 12345678 12345678 etc. Then, in the display utility (in the OS X environment), paste the first sixteen digits of this EDID data into the appropriate box, and hit "parse" and "save" (or the equivalent). This will create a folder DisplayVendorID-XXXX in which a file ProductVendorID-YYYY is located. This folder and file will be located in the same folder you launched display utility from. Open the ProductVendorID-YYYY file with Property List editor (also posted here, not sure which post #, but built into OS X anyways, I think), and add your EDID info as ably described by Nebzar in post #126 (create new key "IODisplayEDID" type "data" with contents "<your edid in eight digit character groups as described above>" Save this file, then move the whole DisplayVendorID-XXXX file to /system/library/displays/overrides/ Second, you need to install laptopdisplay.kext, iographicsfamily.kext, and nvidiaefi.kext, the most recent versions of which are posted in post #277. Delete the kext cache and manually repair the permissions and reboot (while crossing your fingers). If you don't get your screen resolution working the way you'd like, post your ioreg output here for np_ to review by typing "ioreg -l -w 1024 > ioregfilename.txt" in a terminal window. Whichever folder you were in while in the terminal window (it defaults to your home folder), the file ioregfilename.txt will be saved. Upload it and describe your symptoms. SkyZ
hi,np_,sorry for bothering you again and again. here are my test results. first of all ,it seems that NVidiaEFI.kext is not compatible with my system ,cause if i put it into Extentions,my laptop boots into black screen.the system log is like this: it looks like that everything is going smoothly, but i don't know why the system boots into black screen,i know it works well behind the black screen ,because i can force it restart using shortcut keys. attachment are the ioregs, both of With Titan or Without Titan. please check them as long as you have spare time? i know you are very busy ,thank you again. Looks like you need VGA output A <--> B swapping (try connect an external monitor to your laptop and see how it goes)
SkyZ
Ok news on the test´s, with natit dual 01, it didn´t recognise my card, also with GeForce and NVDANV30hal an NVDAResman got the old black and withe screen. So i decided to try a diferent Natit, the one with all that entries for cards, modify the one for FxGo5700, because my ID was not the one provided by np_, with mine and this is what i got. If only someone could give a hint, feel like i close... , even thow i dont no where to go Maybe you can try making Titan or Natit Uni 1.0 work before deploy nVidiaEFI. For edit info.plist in NVDANV30HAL, NVDAResman.... etc, I'll try to make some screen shots when I back home, think that'll be easier to show people how. Before that, you getta find a copy of PlistEdit Pro and install it on your machine.
whynot
Looks like you need VGA output A <--> B swapping (try connect an external monitor to your laptop and see how it goes) I've not got a external monitor and the realvnc doesn't work on my laptop. by the way,how to swap VGA output A and B? joe75
I would suggest you guys try to use Titan and if you choose Natit, be sure to have only your dev id in the plist and remove all others
ksuhumpy
Hello all. This is my first post on IM and I really want to thank the community for being so helpful and creative. Tonight after my ~15th install of osX I finally was able to get titan working with CI and QE and I was overjoyed, but then after a reboot the dreaded blank screen began. I have gone through the tutorial and am posting my ioreg. I tried to follow protocol but if something needs to be changed let me know. I hope someone can help. Thank you. All i can say, is that titan gives a kernel panic on startup, " got to restart youre ...etc", natit gives me the black and white with geforce and rest, maybe i´m editing something wrong , dunkno... So if you put that for general info would be great.
