Swad
Information is everything. From the beginning, our community here has been built on combining good information, friendly help, and fun discussion. In order to make more information available to even more people, I’m proud to announce that OnMac.net is joining the InsanelyMac network. OnMac is home to the first solution to run Windows on an Intel Mac (from those heady pre-Boot Camp days) and has been one of the premier resources during the Intel transition. The combined knowledge of InsanelyMac and OnMac can accomplish great things, and we’re excited to create a community that’s even more comprehensive than today. Integration of the websites will take place gradually over the next few months, and I know you’ll like what you see. Over the past year, InsanelyMac has grown to become the web’s best resource for everything relating to Intel Macs. The knowledge and experience of OnMac will make that resource stronger and better. Welcome OnMac!

Swad
Well, you don't need to register on the OnMac forum if you're registered here - the end goal, which is no easy task, is to merge their forum with ours. That way you'll only have to search once!
Numberzz
I registered, never even knew about OnMac They were the ones that won $13,000 for getting Windows on Macs first on Jan 22, 2006! Edited January 3, 2007 by mr.mac
joe75
I knew about that but not of the site, I don't know how much I will really use them for info but it's nice to have more options
Numberzz
I actually tried doing the XOM thing the first or second day and I did it. Didn't have an intel mac though, I eventually did.

Alucard!
Is the OnMac.net bigger then us? I have never heared of them before...
Swad
ggx240- Nope, they're not bigger than us - we're by far the largest Macintel-related forum around. However, their forum (and wiki) have a lot of great info from which our users will benefit greatly.
Alucard!
Hmm..That could be a lot of fun then But the funniest thing is that we want to make our mac work fine. But they want to make windows working.. And as I red they had allmoust the same prb like us?... I just dont get it.... The Apple itself is provideing the dualboot and stuff.. It should work allmoust perfectly.. Or I am missing here something???
bofors
I hope there will be more developers for some things like EFI-thingy and so on! Yes, that is exactly what I was thinking. There were some good people at OnMac doing some EFI work.
bofors
I just dont get it.... The Apple itself is provideing the dualboot and stuff.. It should work allmoust perfectly.. Or I am missing here something??? No, in fact this is probably the real reason for this merger. While OnMac certainly provides a place for people to discuss and work on issues related to running Windows on Macs (or OS X in general), the original purpose of that site has been mooted. Swad
Well, Bofors, it's true that Boot Camp did make moot the reason for OnMac's initial popularity. Since that time, however, it's been used extensively for discussion on Boot Camp and other things. Its forum threads are also useful archives of information for Macintel related things, as evidenced by its ubiquity with Google.
Zealot
great jod administrators .Its getting bigger . Congrats to Swad too of course and welcome OnMac.net users. ----Zealot-------
rollcage
I go to that site all the time whenever I'm having Boot Camp trouble, especially driver-related. I saw that their site was for sale, but it never occurred to me that this would be the outcome. Looking foward to the complete addition to the insanelymac community! Swad
As it stands now, our forums are two separate sites - if you're registered here, you won't automatically be registered there. Eventually, our goal is to move the entire OnMac forum (well, at least all the important stuff) into our forum, so that you'll only need to login here. aberracus
Maybe they have a hack to make Paralelis work on our dual boots systems, that would be awesome! BTW its still onsale for me... Edited January 4, 2007 by aberracus
