For QE/CI you have to add the device id of your card in ATIRadeonX1000.kext.

 

copy to some where else edit then use kext helper or copy it back trash the system/lib / extensions kext and repair permissions

Well it used to be the way to get it working but under leo wit effi this will get you disaster

I just cant get my X1900 XTX to work working properly

try ed every thing jcool drivers , dvd drivers , some times it looks oke inc qe/ci

but it does not work...Open GL and video just wont work.

 

So my work station is still going strong on x86 10.4.9

and is doing that for a year now. why upgrade when everything works

During the course of the 10.5.3 installer there has been 600 downloads of the file;

of those 600 people only 2 have donated totaling 10$ worth of donations;

I'am asking for everyone who uses the Jccool Method and for all those that want it to stay alive to please make a donation. If 1 in 6 of you who downloaded it donated a dollar, it would covr the whole HDD cost!

 

Man I would donate if I could ever get this thing working right!

 

Finally got the proper resolution out of the ATI x1950xtx Uber Edition by updating 10.5.2 to JaS 10.5.3 and using your installer for 10.5.3 with Injector. But a big problem, the fan motor on the ATI is going full blast and the system locks up when launching any application. So right now I'm having to use the -x option to launch safe mode so I can find a fix and listening to the fan going full throttle. But at least I'm getting full resolution out my monitor now. I just need to be able to get a fan fix and run the OS stable without the -x option at boot.

Update: This is really strange but when running normal mode with injector package and If I touch a dock item with the mouse it freezes. I can launch from within the Disk or by menu and all is well. :(:shock: So what gives? The injector package is the only install that will give me 512MB detected by the OS on the ATI. Like I've said it doesn't control the fan on the ATI.

Well I gave up on the ATI, after a lot of homework and reading on this site, I came to the conclusion to dump the x1950xtx and bought the eVGA 8800GT. And now everything works perfect.

 

System configuration with no problems at this moment is:

 

Cooler Master Case and 600 watt PS.

MSI 975x Platinum Power Up Edition with latest BIOS.

Kingston 800mhz 2 GB modules total 8 GB.

Intel QQ6600 Quad.

eVGA 8800GT 512MB.

Seagate Barracuda SATA II drive.

Sony DVD burner.

Microsoft cheapy wireless keyboard and mouse (I plan to get something better).

On-board network and sound.

 

Everything works at optimal speed. Perfect. No fuss with adding or changing anything to updates or plists.

have 10.5.4 but doesn't work properly with 1950xt

well the reason I havn't made a 10.5.4 installer is because after the update,I found that all the ati kexts were identicle byte for byte... so I wouldnt know whyat to put in the instller :-) BTW thank you for the donation :-)

 

I'd also like to announce that after 2 long years, I've retired my X1950XT, A fantastic card, but I recently found out that gta IV is coming to the PC in November (and I like gta) so I upgraded and for the first time, I went NVidia! I got a 9800GTX and it benches 264 in mac, but where it will really shine is in DX10 gaming! Anyhow, When 10.5.x comes out and the ATi kexts get updated, I will try & continue supporting the Jccool method anyways, but forum ppl will have to tell me when it doesn't work anymore because I won't know...

I have a sapphire X1950XTX (Id 7240), don't exactly remember what I used, but it works great (dual dvi, quartz, etc...)

 

Well, everything is working but wake from sleep.

It goes to sleep perfectly but when it wakes up, only part of the screen (upper left, both screens) is showing (rest is black) and flickering.

 

NB: System is not crashed as I'm able to make a shutdown of the computer via the menu (hopefully it's in the upper left part of the screen).

 

Any hint on how I could fix that?

Is is graphics drivers or kernel related ?

 

Btw, system is 10.5.3, P5w dh.

I'm happy to read that your configuration works well apart from the sleep... ( I have the same configuration).

Is the fan of your 1950 XTX working OK?

Mine is just going at full speed all the time and is really noisy.

 

Has anyone achieve to make the X1950 work silently with leopard?

I am begining to think that I should change my graphic card.... I'm so desperate... :wub:

First of all, great work here, thanks a lot.

I just installed 10.5.2. w/Kalyway. I selected ATYT (Something like that) at install. I just realized I don't have QE CI working, so I was wondering if your packages would do the trick. I just installed chameleon, so I don't know how that impacts the EFI aspect of it.

Ok, So I tried #2, that is: X1950XT 10.5.2 EFI-VGA Installer 0.1

No go. It froze up on the white apple screen. I did a hard reset and then booted with "-s" at darwin prompt. That got me booted, and CI QE still not enabled. =/

Should I try package #3? Kinda afraid to screw it up further. Though I can reinstall 10.5.2 quickly, not a big hassle.

I have a Mac Pro that came with 7300GT 256MB and I bought X1900XT 512MB for PC and flashed it with Mac ROM for that card. Threw GT out.

 

It works, but every graphical change on the screen makes the card click. If I scroll fast, a lot of clicking sounds come from the card. If iTunes copy files, progress bar makes the card click. And it's not from the cooler.

 

I guess that it's a driver problem. What do you think?

I guess that flashing is no problem, as the card works.

I haven't seen a fan fix anywhere. :) It probably has something to do with the 4pin fan connecter.. but I don't know... I would love a fan fix for the X1950XTX!

Hello.

Im banging my head against the table now...

I have tried all different solutions ( I think) but still have no QE or QE2D.

 

Closest I get is with Jccool method injector.

Then the system runs at 1650*1050@60hz on Dual DVI

But no QE och QE2D.

 

my system:

Mobo: Abit KN8-Ultra (chip:AppleNForceATA Test, Sound: ALC850)
Processor: AMD X2 3800+
Video: ATI X1900 GT (id 0x724b)
Build: iDeneb v1.3 10.5.5
Core: 9.4.0 StageXNU
AMD Patch

 

Is it possible to solve this with 10.5.5, is this the place for answers?

If not please direct me.

After attempting to use the x1900xt EFI installer on 10.5.6 I received this error.

The x1950 AIO installer worked perfectly except restart/shutdown stopped working. Screen would turn off, but the computer stayed on. Worked normally until I tried the driver.

 

My specs:

 

ASUS P5Q Pro

Leopard Retail Vanilla (MBR install)

ASUS x1900xt PCI-E
