Amuraivel Posted January 13, 2007 Share Posted January 13, 2007 okay fellas got it working!!!used JAS 10.4.8 + ATINDRV.kext + IONDRVSupport.kext from the older JAS 10.4.5 DVD entered my EDID in info.plist and info2.plist repaired permissions etc and.... got QE/CI res changed and all the stuff fully working nice to have 1600*1050 on the internal display finally cheers sheriff Please give exact instructions, kexts, versions, plist edits, and exact hardware. mac sussed Posted January 14, 2007 Share Posted January 14, 2007 The 10.4.5 IONDRVSupport.kext can be extracted from the 10.4.5 Intel Update on the aPPLE website. I have not had time to mess around with this recently, but I have got Ubuntu running sweetly with XGL and Beryl. Ubuntu kills OSX! sheriffbounce Posted January 15, 2007 Share Posted January 15, 2007 okay for everybody here are my used kexts... u only have to enter ur EDID into the info.plist in the ATIinject.kext with Apples Plist Editor (from Genius bar) repair permissions chown and chmod ATIinject.kext (u should know how 2 do this ) reboot and enjoy full res, QE/CI... only one issue is left: as soon as you close the lid and reopen the image is garbage and u have to reboot the machine... cheers sheriff ATI_mobility_x1600.zip Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

FireGL5200 256 MB 71c4 ThinkPad T60p 1400x1050 This gives me hardware mouse, Switching into OpenGL doesn't "shatter" it all over the screen... I can change the display brightness and calibrate it. It shows my two displays. better performance xbench Two issues: 1. I get a bios security error upon coming out of sleep? Is this a kernel, bios, or driver issue? (TPM is disabled on my device), or type of sleep setting. 2. I think it doesn't saved my modified Info.plist. With this, I get the screen cut in four part, each part was bigger than the last time... perhaps I'm on the good way.. I tried next with textedit, and I get a wonderfull blackscreen. I will try again and again until it works !!! Last week, I also bad-flashed my A8JP while trying to change X1700 BIOS to X1600. We'll see what happens if I get it back. Hubb Posted January 18, 2007 Share Posted January 18, 2007 so.. my card is detected as an ATI Radeon X1600 Mobility, I've got all spec in the System Profiler (QE & CI enabled, 256Mo ram, correct device ID and vendor ID). My card is well recognized, and I haven't got any pointers problems. But I still have a splitted screen in four. Have you deleted the others Radeon kext ? In the system profiler > Software > Extensions, I only have ATIRadeonX1000.kext, not the ATIInject whicj contains my EDID data... Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
