Hi, I was wanting to add some mpeg files to my iMovie project. I was going to combine 7 of these files into one iMovie. However, as I dragged each and every file into the clip viewer, iMovie came up with the error. (see attachment) What do you think the error is, and how can I get around it?

Thanks,

please help, I really want to be able to combine all of those videos

Try opening the problematic video into QuickTime Player (registered version) and export the video to MOV format using a lossless or a high quality codec to maintain the quality. Then, import the new file to iMovie.

If this doesnt work, your source video may be corrupted.

i was a bit disapointed too. I have here 500 music video's in al sort of formats. I tried to open them in Imovie it didnt reconize 1 of them. Just like iphoto and idvd its toy software. It prmoise a lot, but when you wanne do some real work you have to buy something else.

The main purpose of iMovie is to edit your own home made videos grabbed from your digital camera through firewire port. For more serious uses, I suggest you trying another software like Final Cut Express. There are many useful sharewares available too. Take a look in Apple site, in software tab->video section.
