kinhhoang161
Hi, I have successfully Hackintoshed my Razer Blade 15 2018 Advanced, and it's almost 100% functional. However, I quickly realized that macOS is not correctly recognizing my display, so the Screen Mirroring option always appears on the Menu Bar, and it mirrors or extends to my Built-in Display. . After some research, I found that my laptop might need an EDID injection, and I performed it using DarwinDumper.app on macOS. Then, I used FixEDID.app to correct some issues then i used AAPL00,override-no-connect to inject it by DeviceProperties at the config.plist. After this, my display was correctly recognized. The Color Profile changed from Unknown to Color LCD, and the Screen Mirroring option on the Menu Bar disappeared. However, since I cannot scale to 125% like on Windows, the interface and fonts on macOS are too small. So, I looked into HiDPI. I can use HiDPI quite well, but when I shutdown or restart, my display starts flickering. I wonder if there is a way to fix the flickering issue when restarting or shutting down? A few important points are that I cannot use HiDPI without injecting EDID (HiDPI won't work), and if I inject EDID, the screen flickers as mentioned above. I tried various methods to inject EDID like using DarwinDumper as mentioned above. I also went to both Windows and Linux to extract the original EDID, but injecting the original EDID did not work on macOS, its only working when fix with FixEDID.app. Therefore, I tried following the WhateverGreen method by using this script to fix my EDID, but unfortunately, it did not work either. In the end, only FixEDID.app could make my EDID work, but it caused the screen to flicker when Hidpi. I have researched and tried to fix this for over a year but have not succeeded. If anyone has experience with this issue or knows how to fix it, please help me. Thank you very much.
