David Guy
I have been trying for days to figure this out. I have a dell d830 with Nvidia I can't seem to get anything to boot with osx of any kind It will boot things like gpt parted. When I try with the other usb things nothing is working I've tried iatkos 1.4 and multiple others and it always just goes to no boot sector found on usb device. Im sure I'm just doing something stupid but I do set to boot first from usb. Anyone know why it won't boot. Im not sure what I need to tell you just ask me whatever you might need. Thx for any help you can give me
eSaF
Hi, I tried to find similar to your setup here - https://github.com/topics/hackintosh?o=desc&s=updated - to get you started but failed to find any. You need to give as much info on your machine specs as possible for someone to come to your aid. Plus it depends on the Nvidia Card within the machine to get a satisfactory result. Good luck.
David Guy
Well can I ask you this I think it is something about the way I have been trying to get my osx files to usb. For instance when I use a regular DVD I can get it to start trying to install but the only osx I have on DVD is a very old iatkos v 1.4 but when I try to use a thing like Transmac and a usb with a newer image it just keep saying no boot sector on usb. Im going to try to posy some of the system In a few mins but I really think it's the way I have been trying to get the image to usb.

You need to seriously read up on how to create a USB installer for Mac. The USB size is also very important, try anything way above 15GB and preferably a USB 3.
miliuco
@David Guy Maybe a bit outdated but valid. Did you read these guides? If you have Windows: https://dortania.github.io/OpenCore-Install-Guide/installer-guide/windows-install.html If you have Linux: https://dortania.github.io/OpenCore-Install-Guide/installer-guide/linux-install.html Edited Sunday at 12:20 AM by miliuco Typo
David Guy
Thx for the guide I will give it a shot. I had said before I would post my system specs so here they are. miliuco
@David Guy Thanks but if you add a signature to your Profile -> Account Details with the main data of your specs, it's better to us. See the signature of my posts to have an example. But you have severe drawbacks: NVIDIA Quadro NVS 135M -> it can't be installed on macOS, forget this GPU Intel Mobile Core 2 Duo T7250 -> obsolete for macOS, I think that it lost support after High Sierra, 8 versions and 7 years before today RAM -> 2 GB is low for modern macOS. In summary, I think that your hardware needs a lot of hard work to have macOS installed on it, with no guaranty of success. Maybe someone here in the forum has more knowledge than me, I hope that you'll get any kind of help. I don't think it's a matter of knowledge or experience. Let's be honest, this computer is not suitable for working with MacOS today. Let's say by some miracle you manage to install an 8-10 year old system. And what to do with it then? It doesn't support modern browsers, text editors, nothing!
