sudo softwareupdate --install --restart --all

@Stefanalmare Thanks a lot. I don't understand why softwareupdate (Settings) doesn't work. I had the same issue updating 15.0 to 15.0.1. 😒

You're not alone.

I have the same issue on my rMBP10,1 using OCLP. With 15.0 it eventually listed 15.0.1 but clicking Update did nothing.

Once, it did start Downloading but was just hung for 30 minutes. I rebooted.

I never managed to upgrade to 15.0.1 via System Settings.

I have  20GB HFS partition that I use for Installing. I just downloaded the full 15.0.1 update and used Createinstallmedia command to create an Installer on the 20GB partition.

I then booted that installation partition and installed it over 15.0. This method is way faster than trying to install via an external USB installer.

Once 15.1 was released, I had the same issue. Clicking Update but did nothing (or seemed like it did nothing).

S0 I rebooted and killed all Apps except System Systems.

I clicked Update button Once and just waited.

Within a few minutes, download started and within a few minutes, it finished and moved to Preparing stage and eventually finished the Update. YMMV

Issue seems to be the fact that the system is Root patched by OCLP.

Hp Pavilion 15 i3 3110M Ivy Bridge HD4000-OCLP 2.1.0 Wifi Adapter is working. Thanks chris1111

1.83 GB update error on Sequoia 15.01. Tried Sequoia 15.1 full installation, but as usual failed to get past country screen. The country display issue has been resolved with the Sequoia 15.1 update on Sonoma.

Well, I installed Sequoia again and I'm trying to run OCLP. I' m really fighting with Sequoia like I never did till now hacking my builds.

Now I get this error. If you can give some advice or point me to what I maybe don't know.

Thanks

Try deleting OCLP from the application folder, then go to Volume/Library/Application Support and delete the Dortania Folder if it is still there.

Empty the Trash and reboot. At the boot menu, clean/reset NvRAM at least twice just to be sure.

Download the latest OCLP version, got through the necessary steps and see if the problem is solved,

Good luck.

Hi, first thank you for your help. I did everything but I got the same error. Then I searched for MetallibSupportPkg-15.1-24B82.pkg and manually installed it. OCLP worked. I must say that I was working on a brand new installation. First with Sonoma and then updating to Sequoia. Well, it seems that I must stay with Sonoma which is perfectly working, since after so much time spent on Sequoia I get black boxes on pdfs and also on the Application screens. I could understand if it was Kepler gpu related but it's the same with Intel iGPu. I have to hold my hands up for now. 😐

I tried that both with hd 530 and Nvidia gt710 but same results

goes really well with Sonoma so I can't understand why sequoia is so so slow

It has been driving insane for the past week

PS I fix it Just installed cpufriend and now it is like a rocket

more info

Hi everyone, firstly thanks to @robi62 for helping me to boot and post install of Sequoia in my HP EliteBook 2570P, @robi62 today I managed to delete verbose mode and inject Intel Mausi Ethernet via OC, but the only thing that lacks this old laptop is the analogic audio IDT 92HD81B1X5, I couldn´t hear anything, it´s worked at Monterey or Ventura (I don´t remember exactly). It also sends audio through BT and DP, but not analogic codec.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers.

@bluenote56

From OCLP commit 6643549 (not official yet):

Quote

Note: In some cases OCLP may require packages to be obtained from the internet, such as KDK or MetallibSupprtPkg. In these cases OCLP may only install the WiFi driver on first patch run to ensure you can connect to the internet. Root patching has to be run again to install the rest of the required patches after internet connection is established to obtain the required packages.
With macOS Sequoia, MetallibSupportPkg is required to be downloaded for all 3802-based systems. OCLP will handle this as long as you're connected to the internet.

So it seems that with the next version you will no longer have to download MetallibSupprtPkg on your own.

Hi thank you for this info. I'm still wondering what can be the cause for my graphic issues since everything seems fine. Could be useful to post IOreg log to better understand where the problem is? Thanks

@bluenote56

I don't know how to help you with the graphic issues. As far as I know, OCLP has fixed Kepler support on Sequoia. But I don't have such hardware. Here in IM there are users with Kepler GPUs and OCLP, wait for somebody to give help.

Hi, I have no problems with Sonoma and OCLP for Nvidia 780. Everything works. Concerning Sequoia, I have tried many times both on my Sonoma to Sequoia updated ssd and on a brand new installation. I mean checking EFI and etc. The actual EFI boots Sonoma and Sequoia but as you can see from pics, this is what I get. If i choose Intel UHD 630 it end with a black screen. It makes me mad since I don' t understand (which is worse that knowing what the problem is even if I can't fix it). It can happen of course but I would try to fix it if possible. Thanks guys for your reply.
