Is it possible to get u.2 drives that are incompatible with native OSX to work?

Hi,

It's been a long time since I have been on these forums, but I just wanted to ask a question out of curiosity - given so much work modifying Apple drivers to get OSx86 working has been done.

In short - there are a whole host of u.2 drives that basically don't mount under OSX, they work well in Windows but OSX simply won't load them.

Has there been any work done by the OSx86 community which might be able to get such drives working under native OSX?

If the answer is yes or maybe I'll post up all the info I know about the problem.

Which drives?

My experience is that Kioxia XD5 and CD5 drives work very well with macOS. Do NOT use NVMeFix.kext.

Sonnet has a compatibility list for its U.2 adapter card targeted at Mac Pros, but does not clearly indicate OS version.
