[Pre Release] macOS Sequoia 15.1

193 posts in this topic

Now I understand why the Beta4 of Sequoia suddenly appears on Intel Macs.

Before that, Beta1,2 and 3 were ONLY intended for Apple Macs.

Source: MacTechNews (Germany)

Update: Installation possible on all devices. iOS 18.1 Beta 3 and macOS 15.1 Beta 3 could only be installed on devices

supported by Apple Intelligence - but Apple is now changing this with the fourth beta: This preliminary version

can be installed on all devices that support iOS 18.0 or macOS 15.0

beta 4 gives me an infinite bug on youtube in Brave

Edit: I downloaded the new version, but I had to reset Brave's settings... I don't know what the error was... I now have YouTube...

@Max.1974 hello I installed several yesterday night, starting from Ventura Monterray Bigsur and then updated Sequoia 15.1.
I updated last night, about 1.7gb.
I did it to see if all of them can use Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. In conclusion, all of them can, but Sequoia 15.1 still can't use Bluetooth. Other than that, everything works. Clover Opencore works well on both.

Another update.

Now it seems that Sequoia 15.1 can use bluetooth together with wifi after update kexts version BlueToolFixup.kext from 2.6.8 to 2.6.9 IntelBluetoothFirmware.kext IntelBTPatcher.kext 2.4.0 to 2.5.0 should work all of them, need to try again.

Well, this update was really a p.in t.a. . I left the system on yesterday night. The bar was stuck. Don't ask me why but it started during the night and this morning I just had to run OCLP twice to get it working. Now it's Beta 15.1 (24B5046f). Mystery tales by E.A.Poe - hacking version - director's cut.

@สูงสุด 1974 Hello friends, I have an idea to expand the EFI drive from 200mb to 500mb. Do you think it will work?
So will the conditions work like the original?
P.S. I did it to put the EFI boot file. Mine exceeded the space by about 250-300mb. Different boot.

edit..

In summary, I have tried it and it doesn't work. If you expand the area without the EFI header, it will become a general basic usage area. Or maybe it's because I don't know how to do it and do it randomly.

Hi my friend, i think when you need format to install in APFS, Apple system not do it, just 200 mb its by default  :wink_anim:

@Max.1974 Thank you very much my friend.
Now all wifi and bluetooth works. Note: I am waiting for the developer to make AirportItlwm.kext work with Sequoia. For now, I am using itlwm.kext for now.
As for EFI space, I have stopped thinking about it. I can use USB flash drive instead.

zxystd has built updated Intel Bluetooth kexts here.  You'll need to be logged into GitHub to download.  My previous Sequoia Intel Bluetooth problems were the result of using forked Bluetooth kext builds (built or provided by others and not by zxystd) as I mentioned here.  If you're still having problems with Intel Bluetooth in Sequoia and you're not using kexts provided directly by zxystd, that may be your problem, too.

Hello Grandma, It's like this. If I download from the official source, it doesn't work. When I boot, it will restart itself repeatedly. IntelBluetooth-v2.4.0 So I have to find someone who has already compiled it to version 2.5.0 instead. It will work for me.

@naiclub Grandchild, why did you assume that the link I provided was for version 2.4.0 without actually trying it first?  If I didn't know you better, I'd think you were giving up too easily.

@naiclub Those are nice Wi-Fi screenshots.  Not sure what that has to do with Bluetooth, but I confuse much more easily in my old age. EDIT: The full array of screenshots didn't appear on my mobile screen.  Now I see everything.  That's quite impressive.  Well done.

On a separate note, Sequoia 15.1 Beta 4 installed on my HackBookPro6,2 (Dell Latitude E6410).  Preview app crashes, but not bad at this stage.  Patching with OCLP 2.0.1.

In my grandmother's case, I don't know. I myself could barely survive (I've been groping around for days).
P.S. I'm not very good at using OCLP, Grandma.

Do you want to be good at using OCLP? That is a decision that only you can make.

When I was learning to play guitar, I was too lazy to learn how to read music, so I asked others to show me how to play a song on their guitar and then I copied their finger positions and pick/strum patterns. That learning technique proved to be very limiting, since many times I could not learn to play a new song until someone showed me.

It wasn't until I decided that I really wanted to be good at playing the guitar that I made the commitment to learn to read music. Now, I can play with the best.  Now I don't need to ask others to do it for me.

The same is true for Open Core and with most things in life.

@Deeveedee and @Naiclube and  all other good guys!   :wink_anim:

Hello everyone, good afternoon and I hope you are well.

I learned to play music by ear, but then I had to commit myself, like everything in life, to learn it myself.

With Hackintosh it was no different, despite years of study and gaining a differentiated position in the legal field, I returned to my favorite hobby, and I continue to learn.

But it's not easy, and it requires hours and hours of study and dedication, after all we don't have many sources.

It took me 12 years between graduating from college and getting my job through a competition, a test to classify the best, in Brazil there are no appointments in public companies. And Hackintosh, by my count, is 25 years from 1999-2024, and I'm still learning.

Both Opencore and Clover require a lot of learning, but once configured, Clover still outperforms Opencore in many things. Much simpler and more robust, easy to update and simple to make the necessary updates. Opencore relies on OCAT, but manually it is not easy to deal with. But both are the best we have.

All the best to you
