TijuanaKez
I came across a 27" Thunderbolt Display and thought I'd try my luck as I've already flashed my thunderbolt chip on my Z490 Vision D with Apple firmware which is supposed to help with such displays. It works at the OpenCore picker, and shows Apple logo and progress, but then suddenly reboots right before login. It's also detected correctly in System Profiler if I hot plug it, though it remains off and doesn't show as an option in Displays. I have the TB3 SSDT for this board that I generated at hackindrom and its enabled in my config.plist Other thunderbolt devices like my UAD Apollo work great. Slice
Did you propose that USB controller will work as a source of Video signal?
TijuanaKez
Hmmm. I hadn't thought too hard about 'USB' showing up there as 'USB4' is often used interchangeable with Thunderbolt, like in the title of the System Profiler section. The display also has USB2.0 ports on it... though I dont intend to use any ports. First screenshot shows device correctly identified as a Thunderbolt Display, in Thunderbolt Mode, on the Thunderbolt Bus. Bit of a newb to IOReg, but I'm guessing you mean the device is in the wrong place? Could you point me in the right direction to rectifying the situation? Do you think I'd have more luck investigating DeviceProperties in OpenCore? Or will this be more of a custom SSDT task? Happy and willing to r&d it, but I don't know where to look as I dont understand what's wrong. Thanks! Edited June 25 by TijuanaKez

But can you clarify a bit? Are you saying that the Thunderbolt Display is misidentified as a USB device? Or have I have selected one of the USB ports on the display in IOReg in that screenshot? theroadw
I can use Apple TB display if I change my Titan Ridge to Bios Assist Enumeration, but if it is in Native Enumeration, no such luck. Dell 5411
