I don't plan on giving up. I can get to the installer now, just cannot see my SSD. Updated EFI EFI.zip 4.59 MB · 4 downloads Hi @SavageAUS I saw that you are using more then one kext exclusive to mapping your USB ports. Hackintosh not accepted that situation. Need remove Usbinjectall and XHCI-Unsupported and OC clean Snapshot and restart your Hack to test. Need choose only remapping kexts. If you can accept my suggest, remove Usbinjectall and XHCI-Unsupported and certifying if Hackintool appears fine your ports. So you can change to better kext that is USBPorts.kext from Hackintool and restart after include all SSDTS from Hackintool extraction and use ONLY USBPorts.kext, and SSDTS extracted by Hackintool. I have been remove many from your boot-args to test but I think you prefere use with them. So it's a problem to test and start a EFI. I can't help you if you change EFI configs. Sorry is necessary minimum necessary to put a laptop to work from start. Its difficult try help without you report with last EFI that I provide for you. Hope you can get support because I can start if you not follow minimum necessary knowledge about usb ports. Good lucky my friend You can try start with EFI provided exclusive to you by @MaLd0n on this post: Try the EFI provided and report back, if you wanted. You can start and continue with he's help. Are you saying that setting SecureBootModel = Disabled is causing problems with macOS? Hi @deeveedee sorry not see before your msg. Yes, many forums and people that use OC have been reported this issue. Some models necessary use Disabled to use, others need use Default to install. Im not get this issues, because Clover is very stable now, and necessary to many fixes on Opencore. I just happy to compile Clover and Kexts and use without issues. OC im using to get only tests, install fine and update too. OCAT im using only to get mirror of my SMBIOS, I compile my OC with Chris1111 tools os manually, or use MaLD0n compilers that is fine and no worries about installs or OCLP. Everything works good. 1

Thank you for the clarification. I use Open Core (currently version 1.0.0) and haven't observed any issues with SecureBootModel=Disabled when testing SMBIOS models macMini8,1, iMac19,1 and iMac19,2. I'm interested in this topic, so I'll pay closer attention to see if others mention issues experienced when SecureBootModel=Disabled. I've only participated in one discussion about SecureBootModel here, but that was not related to system stability. EDIT: For the macMini8,1 testing that I am doing here and here, I set SecureBootModel=Disabled to install or upgrade macOS. After macOS is installed, I set SecureBootModel=j174 (for macMini8,1). strangeron
Installing Sequoia on the HP-Pavilion i3 3110M Ivy Bridge (HD4000) system is done without any problems. However, after selecting the Language, an endless loop begins when selecting the Country screen. And it can't get past this screen. I think this is where the installation assistant crashes. However, there is no problem or error message. I am waiting for your opinions on solving the problem. Thanks 3 1

Thanks Hi, to insure it is not a language bug, try picking another language that you know or understand to see if it will go past that point. At this Beta stage one would think since it is there in the language choice, a bug shouldn't or wouldn't be a factor. keep us updated and good luck.

I changed the language and even the country If it is also happening in other languages, then I am confident in my conclusion there is a problem with your installation as it is not reported by any other. I personally would rebuild the USB installer on preferably a 30gb drive and do a fresh install to mitigate any anomalies within your present installation. If you are updating over a Sonoma installation, I know that is probably more favorable than a clean install but as I always say, I prefer clean installs whenever possible. Yes my method is time consuming specially if you have a lot of personal programs, but my method prevents carrying over possible misconfigurations from the previous installation. Plus as a retired person, I have a lot of time on my hands (hopefully ) Good luck, hope you get it sorted.

Bro by my understanding, if it is still happening regardless of language change, I don't see how that will help. I may be wrong but like I said personally I would just throw the towel in and do a clean install on a verified USB drive. PS - This is where Recovery can help without the pain of a clean install. I have tested Recovery in Sequoia and it does work without removing your installed programs. Edited July 27 by eSaF

Without this value, OCLP refuses to apply root patch. E.g. 67080000 is not valid for OCLP. OCLP accepts 67080000 (0x867) to apply root patch. I was wrong. What happens if you put the highest possible value to disable SIP, besides the fact that this value won't be recognized? FF0F0000 (0xFFF) It works for me. I don't get any errors, and SIP is disabled nevertheless. Edited July 28 by ivak4eto

I have tested Recovery in Sequoia and it does work without removing your installed programs. This is what I do when I have problems on the last steps installing. In safe mode, with the minimum of the drivers and programs loading is a good chance to finish the installation, even to apply OCLP. If this isn’t working, I disable all unnecessary kexts and patches and try again (safe and normal boot). After that I try other solutions. Reinstalling from 0 is the last resort. deeveedee
I've seen a few mentions of older hacks having problems with VirtualSMC. I had a problem with VirtualSMC in my old HackBookPro6,2 and thought the only solution was to use FakeSMC. I discovered that I could use VirtualSMC if I also included boot-arg vsmcgen=1. Read more about the boot-arg here. I hope this helps those struggling with VirtualSMC on older platforms.
