I can't use WEG, it's a RX6700 10Gb...it just needs NootRX.kext to work https://github.com/ChefKissInc/NootRX With switchResX I can create the resolution and it works perfectly, but I would like to not have to use that to have the real monitor resolution... Maybe it could be because it is a 6700 that is not native to MacOS... I have an RX6650XT here too, which does work with WEG... I will try it to see if that is why 3
PoMpIs
Well, it doesn't go with the 6650XT either... MacOS doesn't like this monitor... 😭 We rule out that it is a matter of the RX6700 and NootRX.kext.... In the end I will have to use SwitchResX.... very bad to have to do that at this point to use a monitor ☹️
deeveedee
@PoMpIs I'm not a graphics expert, but maybe you need to inject EDID. 3

It used to show properly but now in both OS it shows wrong. I am using -revbeta flag with no luck. Has this changed to 14.6 beta and 15? try to use resstrictevents.kext don by @lorys89 on sequoia thread on macos86 forum it should help to see again your AMD CPU

I bought a new monitor: https://iiyama.com/es_es/productos/prolite-xcb4594dqsn-b1/ And Sequoia does not recognize the monitor resolution (5120x1440p@165Hz) It stays at a very low resolution and looks like {censored}... (the same thing happens in Sonoma...) On Windows it works wonderfully I can adjust the resolution with SwitchRes, but I don't like that, should it work without doing anything, or does MacOS not support this screen format? From what I can tell it only supports that resolution either at 60Hz or with certain HDMI 2.1 cables. macOS seems to be fussy about it. SwitchResX or BetterDisplay are your best options, https://github.com/waydabber/BetterDisplay 4

A firmware upgrade of the monitor, resolved my problem. You should wait. 4

SwitchResX or BetterDisplay are your best options, https://github.com/waydabber/BetterDisplay Well, I don't like having to use third-party applications for something that MacOS should detect without problems... Another monitor that I have at 3440x1440p@165Hz is recognized perfectly and with variable frequency by FreeSync.... This is also FreeSyn and it neither recognizes the variable frequency nor the maximum resolution... I have extracted the EDID and injected it into Opencore but it does nothing.... ----------------------------------------------------- ------------------- RAW DATA ------------------------ that to be able to use the monitor on MacOS... I have already read more people with problems on real Mac computers with problems with these 32:9 monitors 😅 At least there is a solution, with BetterDisplay or SwitchResX it works fine, but it looks bad on the login screen because the native resolution is not activated until BetterDisplay or switchResX is loaded. Thank you so much!! 🤗 Edited June 22 by PoMpIs

I have no idea about this either, it's the first time I've done it... following a tutorial I found on elitemac... But the problem here is the monitor that MacOS doesn't like, I have read that it happened to a lot with real Macs with the 49" Samsung G9 5120x1440@240Hz... I have now sent a mail to iiyama to see what they tell me, because I really like the monitor 😄

Had a hard time with this myself Edited June 22 by PlutoDelic

If the problem is the EDID, I would need the manufacturer to provide me with an update in which the EDID contains the resolution 5120x1440p@165Hz I have extracted the information from the monitor in Windows and it does not show 5120x1440p, it only shows 3840x1080p, which is what MacOS recognizes as maximum 😑 ; INF file generated by Monitor Asset Manager (2.91.0.1043), 22/06/2024 ; Copyright (c) 1995-2019, EnTech Taiwan. ; Internet: http://www.entechtaiwan.com [Version] Signature="$WINDOWS NT$" Class=Monitor ClassGUID={4d36e96e-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318} Provider=%MFG% DriverVer=22/06/2024, 1.0.0.0 ;CatalogFile=YourSignedCatalogFile.cat [DestinationDirs] DefaultDestDir=23 [SourceDisksNames] 1=%DISC% [SourceDisksFiles] ;YourColorProfileFile.icm [Manufacturer] %VENDOR%=EDID_OVERRIDE,NTx86,NTamd64 [EDID_OVERRIDE.NTx86] %PRODUCTID%=OVERRIDDEN-EDID.Install, MONITOR\IVM0901 [EDID_OVERRIDE.NTamd64] %PRODUCTID%=OVERRIDDEN-EDID.Install.NTamd64, MONITOR\IVM0901 [OVERRIDDEN-EDID.Install.NTx86] DelReg=DEL_CURRENT_REG AddReg=OVERRIDDEN-EDID.AddReg, MODE1, DPMS CopyFiles=OVERRIDDEN-EDID.CopyFiles [OVERRIDDEN-EDID.Install.NTamd64] DelReg=DEL_CURRENT_REG AddReg=OVERRIDDEN-EDID.AddReg, MODE1, DPMS CopyFiles=OVERRIDDEN-EDID.CopyFiles [OVERRIDDEN-EDID.Install.NTx86.HW] AddReg=OVERRIDDEN-EDID_AddReg [OVERRIDDEN-EDID.Install.NTamd64.HW] AddReg=OVERRIDDEN-EDID_AddReg [OVERRIDDEN-EDID_AddReg] ;Base EDID HKR,EDID_OVERRIDE,"0",0x01,0x00,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0x00,0x26,0xCD,0x01,0x09,0x01,0x01,0x01,0x01,0x08,0x22,0x01,0x04,0xB5,0x6D,0x1F,0x78,0x3B,0x2D,0x65,0xAD,0x4F,0x4A,0xA6,0x24,0x0D,0x50,0x54,0xBF,0xEF,0x80,0x71,0x4F,0x81,0x40,0x81,0x80,0x81,0xC0,0x95,0x00,0xB3,0x00,0xD1,0xC0,0x01,0x01,0x1A,0x68,0x00,0xA0,0xF0,0x38,0x1F,0x40,0x30,0x20,0x3A,0x00,0x3F,0x32,0x41,0x00,0x00,0x1A,0x00,0x00,0x00,0xFF,0x00,0x31,0x32,0x32,0x32,0x37,0x34,0x30,0x38,0x30,0x30,0x31,0x31,0x38,0x00,0x00,0x00,0xFD,0x00,0x37,0xA6,0xF7,0xF7,0x82,0x01,0x0A,0x20,0x20,0x20,0x20,0x20,0x20,0x00,0x00,0x00,0xFC,0x00,0x50,0x4C,0x34,0x35,0x39,0x34,0x44,0x51,0x0A,0x20,0x20,0x20,0x20,0x02,0x8D ;Extension bloc #1, e.g., CEA/CTA-EXT, DID-EXT, etc. HKR,EDID_OVERRIDE,"1",0x01,0x02,0x03,0x34,0xF1,0x48,0x01,0x03,0x04,0x10,0x11,0x13,0x1F,0x3F,0x23,0x09,0x07,0x07,0x83,0x01,0x00,0x00,0x6D,0x1A,0x00,0x00,0x02,0x03,0x30,0xA5,0x00,0x04,0x64,0x2D,0x64,0x2D,0xE2,0x00,0xEA,0xE3,0x05,0xE0,0x00,0xE6,0x06,0x07,0x01,0x64,0x64,0x01,0xE2,0x0F,0x80,0x1C,0xD2,0x00,0xB4,0xF0,0x38,0x23,0x40,0x30,0x20,0x3A,0x00,0x3F,0x32,0x41,0x00,0x00,0x1A,0x6F,0xC2,0x00,0xA0,0xA0,0xA0,0x55,0x50,0x30,0x20,0x35,0x00,0x3F,0x32,0x41,0x00,0x00,0x1A,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x63 [DEL_CURRENT_REG] HKR,MODES HKR,EDID_OVERRIDE HKR,,MaxResolution HKR,,PreferredMode HKR,,DPMS HKR,,ICMProfile [DPMS] HKR,,DPMS,,1 HKR,,PreferredMode,,"3840,1080,60" [MODE1] HKR,,MaxResolution,,"3840,1080,60" [OVERRIDDEN-EDID.AddReg] HKR,"MODES\3840,1080,60",Mode1,,"247.0-247.0,55.0-166.0,+,+" [OVERRIDDEN-EDID.CopyFiles] ;YourColorProfileFile.icm for non-sRGB displays [Strings] MFG="EnTech Taiwan" DISC="Monitor EDID Override Installation Disk" PRODUCTID="Iiyama PL4594DQ (IVM0901 EDID Override)" VENDOR="Iiyama"[/CODE] 38 minutes ago, cankiulascmnfye said: I've noticed issues with external displays myself, so just wait for the next update. Does FixEDID successfully add unspecified monitor resolutions to an existing EDID? I have no experience with it (or any EDID editing). EDIT: @PlutoDelic 's earlier post here and the linked thread suggest that OC-injected EDID don't affect macOS (only UEFI), so I'm not sure if EDID editing will help. CloverLeaf
I played with Sequoia on my Dell 7400 and it seems to work well except for a few issues I have: -Touchscreen is not working - not a big deal since I barely used it in Sonoma -Touchpad acts like a mouse, no multitouch, tap is working - VoodooInput.kext uploaded recently in this topic -HDMI not working - screen blinks as it registers the cable but no output to the TV - seems like DP for Sequoia should be changed -Backlight change is not smooth - tried a few whatevergreen boot-args but still doesn't work as it should. Basically only 3 levels of brightness available at the moment. The positive part is that the MicroSD card reader works despite it shows missing in System Report. Boots relatively the same or a bit faster than Sonoma. Audio is working fine with the latest AppleALC and ALCPlugFix. Wifi is working with HeliPort + itlwm.kext. Bluetooth is not working (doesn't bother me at all, used it once or twice for the last year). Haven't tested the USB-C to Ethernet adapter yet. Thunderbolt is working. If I manage to fix the touchpad, backlight and the HDMI output this can be a good daily driver. My Coconut rig works great with Sonoma and the Mini G4 as well.
