noisegate
@strangeron Bro. The OC EFI you just sent is working for me. I’m currently installing Monterey on my rig. Been trying for months on and off, to no avail. I’m VERY grateful, thank you. I’ll let you know how it goes, I’ll also try your EFI with Sonoma, just to be sure. I would really like for Master @MaLd0n to check what you did and maybe tell us what he thinks makes it work. A big THANKS to everyone else who kindly tried to help :)
noisegate
@strangeron All went smoothly! Should I expect troubles in day to day use with Sonoma @RoberT_XeS? Any X79 user with no issue? Thanks Edited September 19 by noisegate
noisegate
So I'im trying to install Sonoma, after copying the files and rebooting twice, the installer keeps loop restarting. Here's what I'm getting the first time: This one is after resetting NVRam: Any clue? @strangeron @MaLd0n Thanks 🙏
strangeron
Interesting. I couldn't see any errors. It may be necessary to wait. Try with Nvram Reset.config.plist
noisegate
Thanks @strangeron, unfortunately it still reboots out of nowhere with this config too. I updated the kexts but it didn't solve the issue. How do you mean 'it could be necessary to wait'? Do these issues sometimes sort themselves out on their own? 🙏 Edited September 19 by noisegate
noisegate
So I went with another Sonoma install, just to see how it goes. Goes fine until 98% or so, then setup enters a booting loop. Here are some of the different screens I'm getting before a restart: https://imgur.com/a/sonoma-boot-loop-uXHMKs3 I could once spot something about Cryptex so I added CryptexFixup.kext v1.0.4 but it didn't change anything. I also set DisableSecurityPolicy to TRUE after someone in a forum, but no luck. Can you maybe think of something? @strangeron @MaLd0n Thanks Edited September 20 by noisegate

noisegate
I just checked my BIOS cuz those options don't ring a bell, I don't have them for the X79 Deluxe (BIOS is up to date, of course). I managed to install Monterey no problem, I don't get it. Edited September 20 by noisegate

noisegate
I gave up installing Sonoma, it's not working for me, I went back to Monterey. I'm trying to remap USB ports and the macOS script gives me an error: ####################################################### # Port Discovery # ####################################################### Getting controllers... noisegate
Ok, thanks @MaLd0n. The front USB ports don’t work for me on Monterey, only the rear ones. Any idea? I tried using your custom .aml file in post install but I get a panic. Thank you again for everything bro
MaLd0n
Check USBE/HUBN/PR10 device Too enable this just set Zero to 0xFF
noisegate
Thanks @MaLd0n, unfortunately your custom .aml gives a panic upon boot, so I'm using @strangeron's setup for now. His ACPI folder has a cluster of SSDT files: Which one should I edit? Thank you 🙏
MaLd0n
U can edit ur file or use UsbInjectAll then rename device to EH01 and EH02
noisegate
I tried editing my DSDT and place it into the ACPI folder > no luck 🚫 I also tried editing my config with ACPI > Patch > Rename EHC1 to EH01 / EHC2 to EH02 > no luck 🚫 I'm using USBInjectAll v0.8 Here's a dump here if you have a moment for it: https://file.io/3iKf71PZsHTl Thank you bro 🙏
MaLd0n
Try this version USBInjectAll.kext.zip
noisegate
Thank you @MaLd0n I tried this version again after renaming EHC1 to EH01 and EHC2 to EH02 but it still doesn't work 😑 Should I enable some quirks in ACPI? Also, does it make sense to try and use kexts that were released at the same time as the version of macOS we're using, or should we stay up to date (since Monterey is not supported anymore and there won't be any new updates)? 🙏 Edited September 30 by noisegate
