@strangeron

Bro. The OC EFI you just sent is working for me. I’m currently installing Monterey on my rig. Been trying for months on and off, to no avail. I’m VERY grateful, thank you. I’ll let you know how it goes, I’ll also try your EFI with Sonoma, just to be sure.

I would really like for Master @MaLd0n to check what you did and maybe tell us what he thinks makes it work.

A big THANKS to everyone else who kindly tried to help :)

Thanks @strangeron, unfortunately it still reboots out of nowhere with this config too.

I updated the kexts but it didn't solve the issue.

How do you mean 'it could be necessary to wait'? Do these issues sometimes sort themselves out on their own?

🙏

So I went with another Sonoma install, just to see how it goes. Goes fine until 98% or so, then setup enters a booting loop. Here are some of the different screens I'm getting before a restart:

I could once spot something about Cryptex so I added CryptexFixup.kext v1.0.4 but it didn't change anything.

I also set DisableSecurityPolicy to TRUE after someone in a forum, but no luck.

Can you maybe think of something? @strangeron @MaLd0n

Thanks

I just checked my BIOS cuz those options don't ring a bell, I don't have them for the X79 Deluxe (BIOS is up to date, of course).

I managed to install Monterey no problem, I don't get it.

I gave up installing Sonoma, it's not working for me, I went back to Monterey.

I'm trying to remap USB ports and the macOS script gives me an error:

Any idea @MaLd0n?

Thank you 🙏

Thank you @MaLd0n

I tried this version again after renaming EHC1 to EH01 and EHC2 to EH02 but it still doesn't work 😑

Should I enable some quirks in ACPI?

Also, does it make sense to try and use kexts that were released at the same time as the version of macOS we're using, or should we stay up to date (since Monterey is not supported anymore and there won't be any new updates)?

🙏
