Problem is Ventura is installed on the drive first and even if booted into Sonoma I cannot remove it.
Might be time to test fresh installs.

If you partitioned your drive after installing Ventura and then installed Sonoma, you can only delete the partition you created 2nd so you won't be able to delete the first partition that Ventura sits in.

I think that's probably true as you said.
But looking at the other side, you use USB boot can delete it. I have tried it and it works well.

Strange. I have one drive with several partitions and I am able to add and delete any partition I like. Recently I shrink Mojave partition to create Sonoma partition. It is long duration process but success.

If you use an SSD HDD, it won't take long. Unless you are using an older HDD.

If you try to delete the original partition, it won't let you do that in Mac. You will be able to delete any partition that is secondary to the original. As you see from below examples that when I highlight the original partition, Sonoma or Ventura, the minus(-) is greyed out so not able to but if I select any secondary partition I am able to delete it via the minus button

I also want to remind that if originally drive was partitionned by Windows 10 to GPT then you can't repartition it in macOS.

macOS GPT is not same as Windows GPT. Once I have to entirely reformat disk with losing windows.

Hi all

Z390 config: Install Sonoma Dev Beta 4 successfully on a specific hard drive (Clover 5154 last commit). Fenvi FV-T919 (Wifi not working, BT OK), Intel 9560 ac (Wifi working using Airportitwlm for Sonoma Preview 04 despite country code issue, BT deactivated) 😊

Depending on the speed of your hardware, rather than taking hours to shrink a partition and create another with disk utility, it is a lot quicker to first use disk utility to back up to a bootable SD card or portable hard dirve.  Boot to linux (gparted on USB) and create the desired (smaller) partition(s) in HFS+.  Then use disk utility to convert to APFS and restore to the smaller partition.

Today I fully tested the HDMI functionality on my laptop and everything works great. Unlike Ventura, Sonoma detects and outputs to external monitor after sleep and (re)boot without the need of unplug/plugin again. I am able to get 4K@30Hz, 2K@60Hz and 1080@120Hz. Audio through HDMI works. Dell WD19S works and can hook external monitors both through HDMI and DP. I am happy :)

Here's my DP section if anyone is interested:

I need this particular DP only to be able to output 4K. Not needed for lower resolutions.

Good afternoon.

Sonoma beta 4 + OpenCore 0.9.4.

Every time I open Music app, it remains opened for a few seconds and suddenly closes, giving an error message that I can't interpret. The crash is always in this thread:

The crash happens with 3 different settings:

  1. OpenCore without Sonoma wifi patch, SecureBootModel not disabled and csrutil enabled
  2. 1 + OCLP patch for Sonoma wifi with AMFI disabled (amfi=0x80)
  3. 1 + OCLP patch for Sonoma wifi with AMFI enabled (AMFIPass.kext).

Does it happens to any one else? I can't find references to this crash in the OCLP issues or PRs.

Same here, however I have not tried with AMFI enabled. Btw both Music and AppleTV crash seconds after the launch. Will test with AMFIPass.kext...

Seeing that some users with z390 have problems, I have installed Sonoma in my z390 Aorus Master. All is working. All what I have done is to adapt EFI to OCLP. All is in this thread. If i can help, please tell me.

I found something really annoying related to AppleTV. While using and after closing the app my GPU spikes at 100% core clock. Nothing really helps but restart. I was trying to find the process behind this heavy load but couldn't see anything in Activity monitor or top command in Terminal. I remember this problem before in Monterey but cannot remember what did I do to fix it. Does anybody experience the same problem ?

Music app works without problems.

@Stefanalmare Is your Apple TV App working?

@eSaF But he has Music app running, this makes a big difference.

I'm pretty sure that my EFI is right following OCLP guidelines but are you so kind to let me see your config.plist, @Stefanalmare? The one of the Z390 with Music app working.  Thanks.

Guys.. Since I updated to the last beta 4, I have lost the DRM in safari, AppleTV and the Amazon prime video app... and I don't have the system patched with OCLP...

The Music APP also crashes... Apple TV the same, and the Amazon Prime Video app also

Until beta 3 everything worked perfectly... and I think in the first beta 4 too 🤷‍♂️

Poor hackintosh... apple is going to leave us with nothing, the base system and nothing else 😅

For me, any configuration, whether it's iMP1,1, MP7,1, or override command that uses AMD GPU for playing DRM contents will immediately crash the TV app and Apple Music app when attempting to play the DRM content. On iMac19,1 with no override command in place, TV app or Apple Music app works fine but then no DRM contents are playable with iGPU. I think I've seen couple of posts mentioning that this also happens on iMacPro 2017.
