Not sure where to ask this, so I apologize for the off-topic (but related) question.  Which revpatch value controls RestrictEvents.kext's EFI Check disable? It appears to me that RestrictEvents.kext always disables EFI Check despite any revpatch values.

EDIT: Unless I missed it, there is no mention of EFI Check in the RestrictEvents readme.

EDIT2: For those who want more info about EFI Check, see here.  For some, disabling EFI Check may be a reason to add RestrictEvents.kext (or EFICheckDisabler.kext) even if you don't need RestrictEvents.kext for VMM spoofing.

EDIT3: I looked at RestrictEvents.kext Info.plist.  I'm not a kext expert, but it looks to me as though EFICheckDisabler is incorporated into RestrictEvents.kext as a "codeless" patch, so it's possible that there is no way to control EFI Check with nvram properties.

For those using MacPro7,1 SMBios, what kind of issue do you get when using RestrictEvents pciui, memtab, and sbvmm patches?

With iMac19,1 (without boot-args revpatch=sbvmm ) I need use terminal command to update.

With iMac Pro or MacPro needed use boot args above. But still need use command to update.

Thanks PMHeart

@D3v1L My hack uses a T2 Bios and does receive incremental updates! That's what the different entries in SecureBootModel are for.

Is the first thing that i try....i use disabled, default, x86legacy, j160, j137 etc ,.. neither work...but is not a big issue...

Peoples not using much Passmark, seems more useful/consistent info, select any CPU opens new page showing also multicore and the tests used

https://www.cpubenchmark.net/singleThread.html

Video card page is also useful to see how performant for 2D,3D, and each of the DirectX versions , ok so that’s more for Windumbo OS.

I normally don’t do synthetic benchmarks but for the sake of comparison between the 2 updates I thought I would test just to see how my results compare to others. Even though I think my system performs great with actual use it’s still nice to get real feedback. If you can suggest other benchmarks I’ll be happy to test them. I’m just concerned about CPU temps at idle being around 55 degrees in Sonoma.

Who’d be or where would be the place to ask about how to spoof a GPU device id on and for Windows?

Specifically wanna know if spoofing a Radeon Pro W7900 device I’d to trick Windows into installing Radeon Pro Edition driver with a physical Radeon 7900 XT (or XTX) GPU installed will work.

I know it’s OT but this thread gets traffic’s and someone here probably used to use windows more than macOS.

Hi guys.... 🙋‍♂️

I'm testing Sonoma on a Ryzen, which works fine, but the RX6650XT is giving me a bit of trouble... it's weird...

I have smbios of MacPro7,1, and the 6650xt works perfectly without WEG or agdpmod=pikera.... But I don't have DRM :(

And if I use WEG + agdpmod=pikera, I have DRM but lose sound over HDMI/DP ?¿?¿. very rare...

I took a look in the morning. And I forgot that I am using RestrictEvents and sbvmm because I have disables SIP (set to 03080000 since I am working with pro audio stuff and all these pop-ups, notifications and access request just annoy the eff out of me). I am using SecureBootModel j185 for iMac20,2. Once the next beta drops I can disable RE and test if it works without it.

I don't mean to brag, but check out this impressive GB6 result for my HackBookPro6,2.  It only took 15 minutes to complete in Sonoma Beta 3. 😂

Good afternoon, I already updated to beta 3 changing SMBIOS to iMac19,1 so I can't tell you anything about these 3 patches and OTA updates until next beta.

But I do tell you about my experience with the settings that interest you in a normal use:

  • pciui and memtab patches remove warnings and configuration tabs (memory is shown with real slots and pci tab disappears)*
  • pciui, memtab and sbvmm patches all together do, afaik, the same, taking into account that I have already updated to beta 3 and I cannot check sbvmm and OTA updates process, outside of this scope I see no difference with or without the sbvmm patch.

* Badge "About This Mac 1 alert" remains even with latest RestrictEvents and following "Removing badges" instructions (defaults delete com.apple.SlotNotificationsPref memoryBadgeCount / defaults delete com.apple.SlotNotificationsPref expansionBadgeCount). I see this alert using custom memory without RestrictEvents or RestrictEvents without custom memory. But this is another issue 🙂

Although off Topic BUT You don't need to spoof it, you can download the pro drivers from AMD site, I did and I am using 6950XT

Thank you so much

I use the below SSDT or Kext for my 6950XT and both work. The SSDT tends to output better graphics than the kext but the kext names it as 6950XT whereas the SSDT just names it Navi 23 or something AMDRadeonNavi2xExt.kext.zipSSDT-6950XT-73A5-GPU-SPOOF.aml Maybe it will work with 6650XT

@PoMpIs

Try this SSDT and config.plist instead of yours. Check the device path in both files, I've tried to write the right paths but check them. Try without and with WEG. And comment.

Suerte!!!

Thank you so much guys...🙇‍♂️

The problem continues... and it's in WhateverGreen, I activate it and I lose the audio via HDMI/DP... and the DRM is activated (appleTV, Prime Video, Netflix in Safari)

My first SSDT for the 6650XT works fine... and if I don't activate WEG, everything works perfect, including HDMI/DP audio, but when I put WEG I lose it...

The miliuco SSDT does not work because the PCI Bridges do not match..

But I really liked the injection of @miliuco in OpenCore, so I simplified the SSDT and used the injection that you have provided me, and it works great, better than before that it only showed the name of the GPU in about this mac, in the other programs showed (AMD prototype unknown)... now even Sensei.app shows it as it is in OC...

With that injection on OC and this SSDT it's going great and everywhere the GPU comes out by its correct name

Hi @chris1111 awesome job my friend, I saw your GitHub references, are you using BCM94360NG Wi-Fi and Bluetooth Card ?  Works for you in Sonoma?

If yes, how are your config for that?

Thanks!!

If I am not mistaken, @chris1111 is using a USB combo card which gives him wireless functionality but does not give full Apple Experience i.e Apple Hand Off to iPhone Camera or Air Drop (Air Drop can only be achieved by a third party app and is limited in it's operation).

This is well documented in a few posts of the various methods how to achieve WiFi in Sonoma but like I said even if you achieve that goal, it is limited.

No its an Intel AX200NGW WiFi 6 / Bluetooth 5.0

The only thing difficult is Airdrop, it work on Ventura but Sonoma not really
