Hi 😊

I haven't used MacOS for a while... And I already wanted to try the Sonoma RC...

I have installed it on pentium Gold 😄

Why does MacOS show it as a core i3? 😁

Because macOS using own table of "possible" CPU while About_This_Hack shows real brand string.

I also successfully installed macOS Sonoma on my old system. I actually upgraded to Sonoma by doing the config edit on my running macOS Ventura system.

The problems I have;

1. VoodooI2C.kext is preventing starting the system, probably the problem will be eliminated with the update.

My System,

Asus K555UQ i5-6200U intel-HD 520 video card. - Graphics Card Patch

Wifi Broadcom 4360 - OCLP 0.6.9 Nightly Built

Anyone knows why MacOS Sonoma installers don't apear in mist or Perez script?

Up to now, last Sonoma RC does not appear. Apple usually releases the new version in a short time, I don't know if this time they are going to wait for the final version or it is just a delay.
These apps and other similar ones simply access Apple's servers so, if the version you are looking for is not there, it will not be in the download app either.

Note: Download Full Installer is an original work by scriptingosx but is outdated (just up to Big Sur), the developer has my pull request to update the app up to Sonoma but he is busy, I hope eventually he'll merge soon the PR.

Although I use the ipc_control_port _options=0 boot argument, Whatsapp Desktop gives an error at open the app and does not open. The error I received was "Due to a problem, WhatsApp had to be restarted."

Is there anyone who has experienced this and an additional solution method.

I get the same results in both of my systems seen in my signature.

I did in fact, but..

the same problem was present also in Ventura, I though was some issue due to OCLP patching

and never asked since in my case those are just SSD for testing purpose.

PS

Question:

Opening System profiler/Ethernet

also crashes or open normally?

I believe that's because of the SIP configuration. I did some test a while back and with SIP set to 03080000 WhatsApp won't open (Not on Ventura nor Sonoma) but if you change SIP to 00000000 it will work which breaks the OCLP Root Patching so I don't think ipc_control_port _options=0 has anything to do with WhatsApp not working.

I'm using WhatsApp app in my Sonoma and it works well...

Thanks @miliuco, I know that, and because I'm lazy by nature I'll wait until apple releases the final version...

Do you have to use OCLP for any devices or just installed Sonoma without using root pathces?

Maybe because of OCLP or SIP completely disabled, I can confirm  'WhatsApp' does indeed crash on launch in Sonoma.

This is absolutely happening on my machine. I haven't tried it in Ventura as it is not installed so can't comment.

Spoiler

I guess amfi=0x80 plays another role since SIP and amfi both are security features so it's no wonder that WhatApp won't work when both are disabled.

I reported this problem when it was first suggested that, to use OCLP, you had to use the bootarg amfi=0x80.  I switched to the AMFIPass.kext and this solved the problem for me.  BTW, I had the same problem with Firefox, not just WhatsApp.

I think a big part of my resent install troubles. was that my ADATA M.2 Drive was on its way out.

as it decided to pack up Sunday. (crashed the hack and no longer visible)

I got a new m.2 Sabrent Rocket. and installed without problems
