ivak4eto
Hi, since I don't get the update (I don't know why) may I ask someone to post a direct link to RC, please? Thanks!

acquarius13
On my E7450, using the board-id method (MBP 12,1) to install all the Sonoma betas and RC (starting from OCLP early release for Sonoma) I found the following: 1. Reroute kern.hv_vmm_present patch (1) is mandatory to have software updates but it breaks some devices, especially bluetotooth. Moreover, the loaded kext section in hackintool appears empty, but kexts seem to be loaded. After installing the updates and disabling the kernel patch, re-enables full functionalities. 2. Starting from beta 6, having the OCLP patches enabled, I always encounter a boot loop issue while installing the new beta (so beta 6 over 5, 7 over 6 and RC over 7). I was able to install RC over beta 7 only from scratch (after wiping the partition): it should work also by reverting OCLP patches. Don't know if anyone has encountered same things but I just wanted to share.. Greetings

miliuco
@ivak4eto I use the app Download Full Installer (original by scriptingosx), main window shows all versions available for download from Big Sur to Sonoma. To show beta versions, go to Settings >> SeedProgram and choose DeveloperSeed or PublicSeed. Another good app is Mist. 7

miliuco
@MacNB @matxpa has it on GitHub, but without binary app yet, you must compile it yourself with Xcode. Very interesting project. https://github.com/matxpa/About-This-Hack 4

Henties
I am at a loss and unable to upgrade my hacks from Somona 23A5337a to the Somona RC 23A339 version. I have installed the required files too the best of my understanding reading the tutorials etc. Symptoms: I can activate/deactivate Wifi with the root patcher as per the configuration of my EFI folder (a whittled down version being attached). I get offered to download the 814.2 MB Sonoma updater, it downloads and also does most of the "preparations to install" but never completes it at all. Shortly before reaching the 10% stage, remaining to be done, preparations stop with the message "Failed to prepare the software ....." as per the attached screenshot. I checked my internet connection and confirm it is indeed still working after receipt of this message. When I then try to reinstate the root patches in order to get WiFi working again, the machine locks up during the booting stage. To get it going again I have to reinstall Sonoma 23A5337a over what the attempt to upgrade messed up. Would appreciate some help to overcome this problem. Or alternatively a link to the full installer, which none of my utilities seem to be able to find anywhere. Thanks and greetings Henties. eSaF
@Henties -These steps are very important You need to have SIPS fully enabled as well as SecureBootModel set to Default. Revert the OCLP Patches, reboot and clean/reset NvRAM at least twice. Hopefully I haven't left anything out. PS - As discovered by @Cyberdevs and my self, if it is interrupted by the Screen Saver, it will also throw up that message so it's best to disable or make the time much larger. Cyberdevs
@Henties Make sure Screen Saver is disabled if what @eSaF mentioned didn't work out.

Stefanalmare
What I do when OTA updates does not work and full installer is not available: First I run update 2-3 times, usually 2nd time full installer appears. 2. Run OCLP rootpatch again and with broken seal update is always full installer. I have some time since I don't install from scratch. If I have update/upgrade/boot problems I strip from efi all ACPI, kexts, patches who are not strictly necessary and try again. It always work. Henties
Thank you all for your kind responses, in the interim I have nailed down the problem to my NICS. Running 2 of them in all my rigs befuddles the "small" installer as to which NIC it should actually use. Disabling one of the NICS in any of my systems resolved the issue and I was able to upgrade all my machines to Sonoma 23A339. Guess the OCLP developers should be made aware of this. Anybody with a link to them kindly inform then accordingly. Incidentally I am running 2 NICS on all my rigs with one of them dedicated exclusively to my DANTE network. Oh forgot to mention, The full installer 23A5337a for Sonoma has no problem in handling more than one activated NIC at the same time. I confirm, Upgrades can be done without removing patches before, you must be enrolled in Beta Dev or Pub prog, upgrade remove patches and snapshot corrected no more broken seal (OCLP patching break the seal) and reboot with a MBP15,2 config.plist that's my case (Laptop i5-3340M) patch and reboot with MBP10,2 config. And i forgot @Slice with Clover it' so easy (CloverX64_r5156_20230912-22h14_d21d5b2_XCODE14_RELEASE_master_local) Edited September 16, 2023 by matxpa
