onibla
Good morning guys, I need your help. I'm installed Big Sur 11.3 on my DeLL tablet 5285 2-in-1. Spec: CPU : Intel® Core™ i5-7200U Processor (6M Cache, up to 2.70 GHz) Graphics : Intel® UHD Graphics 620 Sound : Realtek ALC3253 (ALC225) Display : 12.3 Inch 1920 X 1280 (WUXGA+) 3:2 10 Points Multi Touch Memory : Samsung LPDDR3 8GB 1867MHZ (8GB * 2 Dual Channel) SSD : Panasonic nvme 1TB (2280), Western Digital PC SN520 NVMe SSD 512GB (2230) Wireless : Intel WiFi + BT 7260 Battery : 42WHr I have configure almost all including touchscreen recognized as Trackpad 2. But..... I have a big problem with power management. When it is connected through Power supply I see the correct power management with processor-id 0x1 While, when I use only battery I see that CPU is ever at MAX This cause a rapid battery drain I have already use ssdtPRGen and CPUfriendFriend to generate my SSDT-PM and CPUFriendDataProvider.kext that result functional only when it is connected to Power supply, but not in Battery mode. Do you have any suggestion to fix this problem? Attached my SSDT-PM, CPUFriend and CPUFriendDataProvider.kext 5285 PM.zip THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR SUPPORT Edited October 18, 2022 by onibla
Slice
I may suggest to use Clover with its embedded Power Management abilities. I have good working PM on my Dell laptop. No SSDT, no CPUFriend, no ssdtPRGen.
1Revenger1
There's something causing your CPU utilization to be at 50%. That's probably why your having a lot of power management issues. Is your trackpad or touchscreen in polling mode? That may potentially be causing the high CPU usage. Check Activity Monitor to see what's eating up CPU. Edited October 20, 2022 by 1Revenger1
