Overnight my Big Sur 11.6.8 (20G730) got automatically updated to Big Sur 11.7 (20G817).

I cannot tell whether this new Big Sur Version is a beta, RC or release version.

I don't think it's a new version the catalogs doesn't show this update as the final release or the developer or a beta release yet.

its the new beta..

Yes I agree, but my Big Sur version number got changed from 11.6.8 (20G730) to 11.7 (20G817)

Safari seems to have been updated as well because with Big Sur it is now at Version 16.0 (16614.1.25.9.9, 16614)

Strange things happen in strange places.

Most of the time I multi boot into Big Sur as my daily playground on my Comet Lake hacks because Lightroom fails to start on these hacks under Monterey, yet Lightroom runs perfectly under Big Sur and Ventura.

On my Haswell and Skylake based hacks Lightroom runs perfectly under Monterey.

The Lightroom problem surfaced for the first time after I applied the first 12.5.1 (21G83) security patch dated  17 August 2022, follow up patch, with the same version numbers but dated 24 August 2022, has not fixed the Lightroom issue when used on my Comet Lake hacks and Monterey as the opyses. The Lightroom problem prevailed even after updating the Monterey boot option to 12.6  RC  (21G115) on my Comet Lake hacks.

Again I can only say, strange things happen in strange places.

Greetings Henties.

Just to inform you that Apple has now placed Big Sur 11.7 20G817 as well  as Monterey 12.6 21G115 into the catalog as public release versions.

Apple has also placed Ventura 13 Beta 7 (22A5342f) into the catalog section for developers.

The download catalogs are therefore now pretty up to date.

Happy downloading.
