I forgot to reply to you. Yes, SMBIOS model makes different power settings. Even Hackintool displays more power options with iMac than iMacPro or MacPro. Mi pic was iMacPro. @PoMpIs It's normal behaviour macOS creating scheduled tasks, it happens vey often, what must not happen is powerd (or any other process) getting high CPU usage without macOS really needing it. What I'm missing in all the pics is the Schedule options, I don't need them but... where have they go? Edited July 29, 2022 by miliuco

After an hour I already notice the increase in CPU usage caused by powerd.. I have these running every time I wake up "sudo pmset schedule cancelall" 🤷♂️ @miliuco @5T33Z0 I only see this in system settings: Do you have any other option? I have I glad to report that FileVault technology works in Ventura beta 4 with recent Clover. So it doesn't depend on options in Energy Saver. I have tried to disable "time of use" and it no longer consumes CPU "powerd" when waking up from sleep even with this on power And the sleep is still working, and I do not have the CPU at full frequency @miliuco Edited July 29, 2022 by PoMpIs
miliuco
@Slice Thanks for the info about FV and beta 4 with Clover. Your pic is also missing Scheduler. Maybe beta 4 issue? Edited July 29, 2022 by miliuco

ichelash
Okay guys, I am on beta 3, but when I power on my Hack, the bootloader opencore/clover won't finish booting up. It powers on show the verbose until the HDMI signal is lost midway, and I have to unplug the HDMI cable and plug it back in for it to show the login screen. Is this normal? The first test ended positively. Usage time disabled: the compuer went to sleep as scheduled. After about an hour of sleep, upon awakening the CPU is no longer under stress in idle with temperatures outside the norm. 👍 1

Keep in mind that Haswell has been dropped in ventura. Installing on Haswell should be fine using a dGPU, but your dGPU also lost support in Ventura. Provide please Clover's preboot.log and config.plist. I will look for potencial problems. Anyway if this config works in Monterey then the only visible problem with Ventura is updating Clover. aben
16 hours ago, Stefanalmare said: I learnt that if you have in ioreg x86PlatformPlugin, you have native power management. But, @5T33Z0 say it can be false-positive. At least for Ivy Bridge. Yup, you are correct: as long as the CPU attaches to x8PP, then you have native power management (XCPM) on macOS, whether it's Ivy Bridge or not. With regards to Ivy Bridge, what you shared earlier is indeed correct/normal behavior and NOT a false positive since SSDT-PLUG/plugin-type =1 has no relation to Ivy-Bridge CPUs (except for Ivy Bridge-E found in "trash can" MacPro5,1 which is supported in Monterey, BTW). The key factor here is: CPU power management data, as long as these values are available to macOS either natively (ACPI tables) or injected manually (ssdtPRGen/CPUFriend), XCPM will operate correctly. Feel free to perform any relevant tests to check for any discrepancies with the CPU's native performance factors: idle states, max/turbo frequencies, benchmarks etc. In my experience, Ivy Bridge always performs better with XCPM. Guest 5T33Z0
@aben In my tests on an Ivy Bridge Notebook, performance was signaficantly worse with XCPM enabled in macOS Catalina. Maybe it's different on Desktops though.
