I am opposite. Set SMBIOS iMac17,1 having RX570 and IGPU switched off in BIOS.

RX570 is supported in Ventura and my R9 270X isn't so I have to use the iGPU as the primary GPU and the iMac17,1 is for SkyLake processors and It's for 2015 iMac's which Apple dropped support for them in Ventura, right?

Apple dropped support for Skylake graphics so why I switched off it in BIOS. Processor works fine including speedstep.

iMac17,1 as a SMBIOS model is not prohibited in Ventura.

@Slice

Just out of curiosity I tried booting Ventura installer using the iMac17,1 SMBIOS but it doesn't allow the installer to load neither the installed version of Ventura.

I'm curious to know how is that possible to boot from an unsupported SMBIOS such as iMac17,1 because it clearly doesn't work on my end.

Hi all

Smooth upgrade to Beta 4 (Z390 mobo, SMBIOS Imac19,1, Clover latest commit, FakeSMC latest commit too) 😊 as usual Bluetooth is not really efficiency with Fenvi T919.

New feature or not: I can't restart from LoginScreen, only cancel button is present

I have updated the lenovo 520s to beta 4...

This laptop is really MacOS friendly, rock solid, I never turn it off, and hasn't given any issues or crashes since beta 1

Good night. Since beta 4, powerd process is getting high CPU load even disabling Bluetooth and CPU temp is about 50-60º at idle when before it was 30-40º.

Trying to kill it from Activity Monitor doesn't work.

Does it happens to someone else?

I have looked at it and it does not happen to me in any of my hacks

Check the console for any powerd references and their causes

@miliuco, you are right, i's something with B4. I'm using iMacPro1,1 and works perfect on Ventura B3 and BigSur. It doesn't matter the bootloader as I have both Oc / Clover in my Hacky and same result ...

Raro, raro, raro ...

It could be something similar to weatherhd that broke sleep in B2. Did you do an update or a clean install?

Thanks, indeed I have a lot of powerd diag logs but I can't get any useful info.

This is one of them.

Software Update, not clean install.

Does anyone know where the CPU Name from com.apple.SystemProfiler.plist appears in Ventura?  I'm referring to the CPU Name which appeared in "About This Mac" in previous macOS versions.  Thanks.

@ricoc90 Ha, ha.  I know where com.apple.SystemProfiler.plist is located (and how to edit it). Where is the CPU Name string that used to appear in "About This Mac" in previous macOS versions?

I mean, you can't blame me for thinking that THAT is what you meant, since it does literally appear in  About this mac -> More info
