Cyberdevs
55 minutes ago, Sherlocks said: how about usb copy speed in beta6? is there fix? i really wonder result. it seems normal to me. I copied 12.5GB Monterey installer package to a USB thumb drive under 9 minutes, but i have to say the speed fluctuates a bit in Activity Monitor. Copying same file to an external HDD took only 2 minutes so I assume the USB thumb drive I used might have stating to wear off hence the decreased speed for copying the file and since the copy on an external disk didn't have any issues I don't think the issue is related to the USB ports themselves. P.S. Copying the same file on Monterey took as long as Ventura with the same behavior in Activity Monitor.
deeveedee
@Cyberdevs When I attempted to duplicate @Sherlocks USB performance issue, I found that the problem occurred only with FAT formatted USB partitions. No issues with other (e.g., APFS) formats. EDIT: I haven't performed new USB / FAT tests with Ventura Beta 6 (I last tested/observed the problem in Beta 5) and would be interested in seeing test results from others. My last test results are here. Edited August 26, 2022 by deeveedee 3
Cyberdevs
@deeveedee I will conduct more tests on a FAT formatted usb disk and see if there's any issues but to be honest having issues with a FAT/FAT32 formatted disk doesn't surprise me because FAT is a very very very old format so that could be considered normal if a new OS doesn't support it as well as the newer formats. STLVNUB
12 hours ago, Henties said: @STLVNUB Comet Lake EFI, as per your request, attached. Note of caution, this EFI is not guaranteed to be of benefit if not used in conjunction with a Gigabyte GA-7490-Vision G (Bios F 21) mobo, including the specific hardware connected and or installed. Full configuration details with a listing of all hardware as well as software, can be ascertained by scrutinising the # tagged entries at the beginning of the config.plist file. The serial number, appearing in 5 places of the config.plist file under the "Dictionary" heading PlatformInfo and some of it's respective "children", has been mutilated beyond recognition. It is definitely not a general purpose EFI fitting all manufactures that sold boards encompassing the Intel Z490 chipset. As a matter of principle I believe that each EFI folder must be tied exclusively to the mobo and connected hardware for which it is intended. Anything else to me, is like getting a medical prescription from a doctor that is supposed to cure any ailments known, even amputating a limb, should that be required as a cure. Good luck. Greetings Henties EFI.zip 6.37 MB · 19 downloads Thanks, May give me some clues as to why Ventura resets at desktop No harm in trying

I needed to enable UEFI-csm and insert an old GPU to see the light. After patching, all OK. Spoiler Ivy Bridge 6 series i5 3470 HD 2500 + NVIDIA GT 710. I love this rig (my iMac G3 project). It is funny to see this old peace of hardware working so well with Ventura (Thanx again Devs). HD 2500 fully accelerated!!! Hackintool crash after update in this machine. Spoiler boot-arg "amfi_get_out_of_my_way=1" is enough. I used Clover_r5149 to install beta 6 in one machine, but it can not disable AMFI and I switched to OpenCore to use OpenCore-Patcher.app. After patching, Clover works well. The format for EFI is FAT32. Based on what I read, they suspected that it was a problem with the way Ventura handled the EFI partition. I performed experiments that linked the problem to the FAT32 format (not specific to the EFI). Edited August 26, 2022 by deeveedee

Me too, here is my Ivy Bridge laptop i7 3632QM HD 4000 working very well surprisingly, I need to do a lot of tries and intense research, firstly with os.dmg from M1, then KDK, and finally the OCLP 0.5.0. But also I have problems with AMFI boot-arg in Clover, isn´t working too, so I do a quite simple thing, nvram boot-args="amfi_get_out_of_my_way=1" in Terminal, and after that check if it prints the line with nvram -p | grep "amfi" and voila. This is because NVMRAM isn´t working. The only problem I have currently, is other browser than Safari, all hangs and crash such as Chrome, Firefox and Opera. I remember that with Monterey 12.3 there was happened this, with OC I couldn´t repair it, so I went back to Clover and the problem was solved in a moment, but currently I have also Clover but doesn´t work as past as OC. All is working, HD 4000, Ethernet, WiFi, BT, Sound, USB 3.0, ACPI. Thanks for the OCLP team, with your work we can give to our machines a little bit more of life. Cheers.
