You need to register for the Apple beta program (which currently doesn't work) and then switch to the Apple Developer Seed for macOS Updates.

Looks like booting from install media is a no-go; immediate crash here on Skylake.

EDIT: Apple dropped support for Skylake with Kaby Lake being the minimum.

Officially supported models for macOS Ventura:

What happens if you use Cpuid1Data and Cpuid1mask form a kabylake or a newer processor for your skylake cpu?

First attempt installing, at the first reboot Apple Logo but no progress bar, stays there and does nothing...

Ventura is gone be a tough nut to crack, it appears...

Are you running Lilu? In that case you might need to add the boot argument: "-lilubetaall" (without the quotes of course) in order to force Lilu and its plugins to load on a new unsupported macOS version.

Thanks for the tip! I was thinking of testing with supported SMBIOS and Board-ID first. Shall see how that goes.

You're welcome and yeah you also need to use 2017 or newer SMBIOS settings.

2017 iMacs don't have a T2 Chip and they are supported.
