makk
Hardware is HP Probook 450 G2 Core i5 HD5500 running Clover 5144. The CSM is enabled in Hybrid mode for the monitor to be readable. In Clover there is the CsmVideoDxe.efi driver. Will this correct this on boot? {Martian wars and lightning strikes that grace the monitor} thank you
Slice
CsmVideoDxe driver helps to set native resolution. But the screen should work without it.

Thank you very much. I'll do more testing. And I do apologize for not being well versed in Clover. I kind of stumble a bit. For this laptop originally I used RehabMan's Project Git for HP Probook which included his modified Clover version r4701 which he made it simple as much as he could. But that version doesn't work for Big Sur and Monterey. So I stumbled through trying different things. He made his own drivers as well. And he retired. So without real skills have to find in Google. when I do place this driver and disable CSM mode the screen resolves to the resolution I choose from 1024x768 to 1366x768 on the boot screen. But without a driver cannot read the information once CSM Mode Hybrid is disabled, from once entered into Darwin. (Martian wars lightning going sideways). The Old TV days when the signal is scrambled. So in a sense I need a descrambler. Simple signal converter that reads the information and spits it out to readable. Lastly I would like to know how to really fine tune Clover. Edited March 16, 2022 by makk
makk
with the CsmVideoDxe.efi, now will not boot past the post of Clover, handoff portion to Darwin. it just blinks. It was booting through before. What would cause this?
Slice
As far as I remember CsmVideoDxe is not working with Intel Graphics. Switch on Boot->Debug and catch debug log in EFI/CLOVER/misc folder.

Because I would like to disable UEFI CSM Hybrid mode TO UEFI non-CSM Mode I'm not sure what the difference is other than for OS's not Windows. But I do have Windows booting up no problems. It is working just fine so far.
makk
CSM driver is for CSM mode but does not boot into Darwin. When I disable Hybrid UEFI CSM mode the proceeding bootup has non-readable screen output. just a mess of horizontal lines zipping side ways. Signal scrambled. has anyone else encountered this and have a good solution other than keeping CSM enabled?
