Recently started using OpenCore and it’s working great. Now I am using a theme which looks great but I have lost my startup sound? Does that mean I’ve done something wrong or is the sound file missing from the theme and I just need to copy it from the acidanthera ones?

Do you have that in the plist?

You must have AudioDxe.efi.zip in OC > DRIVERS (Obviously declared in the plist)

 

And OCEFIAudio_VoiceOver_Boot.mp3.zip in OC > Resources > Audio

@drayon You can use OpenCore Auxiliary tools to fix missing entries just by saving the config:  https://github.com/5T33Z0/OC-Little-Translated/tree/main/D_Updating_OpenCore

It was all working before switching to using a 3rd party theme so I don’t know why any audio settings would have changed. I’ll check the settings tomorrow and let you know. I definitely have the AudioDxe driver .efi and the plist entry.

Maybe you just miss the audio file in OC> Resources> Audio
If you replaced the entire Resources folder ... it probably wasn't there ... Check it out

Anyone able to let me know a decent wi-fi+bluetooth 5.0+ card that will work in M.2 slot for a Skylake chipset running MacOS Monterey (Olarila version)?

 

 

I currently have the Dell Inspiron 13 5368 2-in-1 laptop that comes with the Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3165. I have the Wi-Fi working for it but I need the Bluetooth as well.

 

I've used the recommended Ktext and that's how I got the Wi-Fi working (I have it off in the photo - using hard wire connection):

 

But doing the same for Bluetooth does not seem to work. I can turn it on but it really does not come on:

 

 

 

So I'm just looking for a plug-and-play type of wi-fi+bluetooth 5.0 M.2 Card.

With Intel WIFI/BT & Monterey you only need 3 kexts (Latest version):

- AirportItlwm.kext 

- IntelBluetoothFirmware.kext

- BlueToolFixup.kext

 

Any others would cause a major conflict..( remove all Brcm... kexts )  & don't forget to clean your NVRAM.

Thanks for the reply. How do I clear the VRAM? Seems getting rid of the Brcm kext caused some issues with my touch pad but the Bluetooth still did not work.

I have all the required file and configs but since switching to a flavours theme i have lost startup sound.

Ok that problem has resolved itself somehow but after rebooting now my trackpad that was working, isn't anymore and usually i would use the ALT key and spacebar to open spotlight, now it is the windows key and space.

I cannot work out why the issues are happening. Trackpad was literally working fine but now is not.

 

Figured it out.

I did a sync with OCAT and it replaced rehabmans VoodooPS2Controller.kext with the once from Acidanthera and that one doesnt play nice on my system.

Replaced the kext back with Rehabmans and all is well.

And while i am at it can anyone tell me why the Pop!_OS icon isnt working with a theme that has the icon?

Have you tried to rename the icon, as you named it in the Entries? ( PopOS.icns  not  Pop!_OS.icns )

He had an update just now on all Linux disk icons for the themes Flavours-AppleDisk, Flavours-AppleMonterey, Flavours-AppleVentura

Anny things about the themes you can Open discussion or Issue

It look like this with Pop! OS  with Flavours-AppleVentura themes

Devs since OS 12.4, aqc113c kill the sleep in all MB with this chip. If we disconnect the cable, it sleep like a baby, if not, it is a continue loop. Maybe you can find a solution.

Yesterday I compiled OC from the last master 9546ac6   https://github.com/acidanthera/OpenCorePkg/tree/emu-nvram

 

On reboot no GUI and crashed on "[EB | #LOG: EXITBS: START]"

 

After the usual checks ... checking with ocvalidate

and comparing the Sample.plist I discovered the news ... in the driver section it will be necessary to specify

 

 

if the loading of the defined drivers (Load) is Enabled (Enabled) or not (Disabled)

 

 

( Ocat has not yet been updated to these news (watch out for beta users)

so it does not apply the novelty in the plist ( do it manually ... the old way  😆 )

@antuneddu I don't think OCAT needs an update to update the config. You only have to import the .zip in the Sync window.  This integrats the updated OCValidate and new sample into the database und adjusts the config when saviing. OCAT has only be updated by the dev if an array changes.

Yes, but in fact this is what I did, as I always do ... but it did not boot (  as I mentioned earlier   no GUI and   " [EB | #LOG: EXITBS: START]"   )

 ... it did not apply the changes ... I corrected it manually
