I googled it for hours but the only solution I found, was to extend the binary for `find` to make it unique. it is not a robust solution.

I use the SSDT-PNLF.aml that comes wth Whatevergreen and place it in  ACPI folder.

on boot up, the message flashes across the screen:

 

ACPI Warning: 64 bit constant found in 32 bit table -> ( bunch information then the number associated with the problem)  dsobject - 832 

 

Rehabman has a post at tonymac site about these types of issues.

He suggested that ACPI table is out of sync with the compiled and hacked ones and to repatch and recomplie.  I did this for all my ACPI .aml files. and inserted them one at a time to see which one is causing the problem.  

 

DSDT.aml + SSDT-PNLF. aml creates this problem.

When I read the header portion the DSDT it says, 32bit ; no 64 bit math 

I assume that the SSDT-PNFL.aml is 64bit and because this laptop's table is probably where the DSDT is, is 32bit table?  not sure. 

 

So I have tried without DSDT and leaving the SSDT-PNLF, all the other SSDTs and booting up.

 

I got no audio doing this way.  Previously I did have audio without DSDT. But now cannot get audio at all.  AppleALC.kext.  I've tried several thing.

 

I placed DSDT and SSDT file

attached a quickin progress config.plist 

sort of lost here on AAPL,snb-platform-id  is the HEX reversed or straight?

@makk, SSDT-PNLF is unrelated here. And "64-bit" here has nothing to do to 64-bit, it is just that some address calculation overflowed and changed sign. What it likely means is that your DSDT that apparently needs reextraction and/or region fixup (there is a quirk for it). However you approach this, make sure that you extract DSDT via SysReport functionality.

OK, I just hacked Dell Latitude i7-8650u with 0.5.9, works perfectly, one problem I've seen so far with NVME internal hard drive, OpenCore can see it, but can't install. On this laptop, I can't even see the Windows partition. The NVME USB external hard drive I can boot catalina 15.5+. I used 0.5.9 to boot to my MacBook Pro 14,2 i7-7500u, HD620. I got kernel panic when boot to internal hard drive NVME but not my external USB NVME, they're both Catalina 15.5. What's the difference between internal and usb?

The hard drive was installed with Clover and older Lilu and whatever green, update the latest and still kp. Can someone help me on this one?

Alright, I fixed the kernel panic, the hard drive was installed with Clover, the lilu.kext, whatevergreen, applealc, airportfix were installed in the LE folder with older version. Needed to boot with clover, removed all the kexts and updated caches, then it work.

The 0.5.9 definitely not autoboot after timeout. I used the 0.5.8 then it works.

I can't use OpenCore bootloader since it freezes like crazy and I can't boot into Windows without being broken and fixed by HP.

What's the differences? It just a bootloader. I like it because I don't need to use preloader.efi to boot into my HP laptop without kp, but these are really deal breaker. 

If I use entries to create the short cut, it worked on one laptop and doesn't work on this new Kaby Lake i7-7500u Envy 13. The Clover bootloader works flawlessly.

If I use the entries to create the shortcut to Clover then from clover boot Windows then it's perfect.

If every time you update the software, try to make it backward compatible with the previous version and not breaking things. This is the reason why people can't boot with OpenCore with laptops.

I found the guide on laptops are hit and missed, I need to figure out for the Kaby Lake, Sky Lake, Coffee Lake and if I followed the guide to the T, it won't boot.

Now, all my laptops IvyBridge, Haswell HD4400 and HD4600, Broadwell HD5500, Sky Lake HD520, Kaby Lake HD620 and Coffee Lake UHD620 can be booted with OpenCore solidly, unless I make the EFI folder big enough for both Clover and OC, I can't dual boot OC and Windows.

Most people use bootloader to hack, dual boot windows and mac, don't try to make it for real macs, it defeat the purpose. 

Show me how to boot to windows without breaking it every time so I can test.

On my laptop i use a DSDT patch to remap my brightness keys

But when using it, my brightness keys do not work in windows.

Also i would prefer to have it made into a SSDT instead of using a DSDT just for brightness keys.

Can i do this with OC? and not impact windows functions?

Here's a "quickie" issue I've noticed. I haven't had time to try to debug and log it yet, hopefully this weekend I will try to (unless somebody else figures it out first).

 

But I've noticed if you use the CrScreenshotDxe.efi driver in OC, then in OC boot to a GRUB entry (which GRUB is the bootloader for Arch Linux in this case) the keyboard doesn't work after OC boots to the GRUB bootloader. Example being the arrow keys to select a boot entry or E to edit or C for a command line, none of them works. The moment you disable CrScreenshotDxe.efi in config.plist and reboot it works again.

 

The Arch Linux/GRUB boot entry isn't a custom entry either, it's what OC detects and shows in the boot picker. It'll probably happen with anything that uses GRUB, so Ubuntu, Mint, Debian, etc.

Hi. I've got a problem with touchpad. HP EliteBook 840 G1, 14" 1600x900 non touch, i5-4300U,

In system settings touchpad is not visible like a trackpad. Only works like a normal mouse but I can add three finger short in keyboard shortcuts, two finger for swipe works, but no one tap for click.

I use all method for voodoops2.

Rehabman voodoo - like I say on the beginning. 

Rehabman voodoo + voodooinput - not work

Opencore voodoops2 -  nothing work. 

VoodooI2C - nothing work. 

ALPS and other kext and setting for touchpad - not work

I install clean system with rehabman guide for laptops - not work

Clean install with OpenCore 058/059

Clean install Catalina 15.4 and 15.1  - not work.

 

In windows in Aida64 I see only : Synaptics SMBus TouchPad. 

 

What should I do to inject trackpad in settings? Maybe I do something wrong? But I do that same on probook 6470b and works fine.

Hi Daniel, I think I am having a problem very similar to what you had before on audio output. I'm building a Hackintosh on Optiplex 5060 micro, i5 8500T, Q370, UHD 630, ALC3234(255). I'm using Opencore 0.5.9 and trying to install Catalina 10.15.5. I can boot into the system fine, but there is no audio. If I go to "System Preference->Sound->Output" it tells me "No output devices found". After some research I found these posts. It seems that I need to make some change DSDT. Would you mind giving me more details on how to change DSDT and what exactly to change in DSDT? Thank you very much. And please do shout out if you need any more information. I know it has been a long time but perhaps you can shed some light on me :)

i dont think you getting it goes right into windows there is no menu for opencore  or anything am I supposed to replace that efi file inside microsoft/boot/ to bootx64.efi or something to get the op menu to show up

No - you're the one who is not getting it - before a machine boots into an operating system, one is able or should be able to go into the BIOS before it loads any operating system. That is what I was trying to explain to you but it seems all that went right over your head. Right let me start again, when you boot your machine start hitting the delete key as soon as you hear the Post BIOS Beep, by doing so you should be able to go straight into the BIOS before it boots windows. Here is where you can make any necessary changes to the operation of the machine and this is as far as I am prepared to go on the subject. Good luck.

Feeling confident with OC, I thought I would take next adventure with my even older Hack and try OC Legacy boot.

 

System is a Dell Inspiron LGA 775 P35 Chipset with Xeon E5450 CPU with Legacy BIOS.

Currently successfully booting via Clover r5110. Running very stable for over 10 years !
It boots Windows 10, High-Sierra, Sierra, El-Capitan, Yosemite and even Snow Leopard :lol:

Graphics is an nVidia Tesla GT240 (and that's the reason why I never updated this system OS higher that High Sierra).
Audio, Sleep, Wake, Restart, Shutdown, iMessage, FaceTime, etc all working fine with Clover.

 

I backed & removed all traces of Clover from the Main boot drive (including emulated NVRAM).

I installed OC 0.5.9 Debug released version onto a USB stick using this guide.


OC starts but here I encounter my first problem. The boot file installed by bootinstall.command on the USB root does not "see" any of my SATA drives. BootPicker (Builtin) only shows EFI Shell. :(


I had to replace it with one I picked up from @fusion71au's MPS 1530 config-download here and then the BootPicker lists the bootable drives.
(So the boot file issue still needs to be solved as the "official" method does not work - to be solved)


Selecting High Sierra, OC starts the boot and the Kernel Panics on NVDAStartup. Since OC has no Quirks to "InjectNvdia", I had injected Device Properties for the GPU. But these did not work (even though OC log shows "success" for each Add. So I removed them.

I solved the problem by editing the DSDT and adding the GPU device properties under GFX0. And now the OS boots. :thumbsup_anim:

 

Sleep & Wake seem to work. Shutdown works. But Restart fails - screen clears but the system hangs. :(

Booting via Clover had no issue with Restart. To be solved.

 

I then installed OC onto the main SSD's ESP. Again I had to replace the boot file since the "official" one does not detect my SATA drives.

 

Next (main) problem is that this old system has no working FW NVRAM.

It was emulated when I was Using Clover.
With OC, I had setup Legacy method from the guide here 

 

This is now my bigger problem as emulated NVRAM does not work - without it, it's impossible to auto boot. :(

I had installed Logouthook and then ran it again to generate the nvram.plist which was copied to the root of the ESP.
But OC cannot set the default boot drive.

I tried CTL+ENTER when selecting a macOS drive in the BootPicker (and the OS boots).
Log confirms Default is set but on reboot, it defaults to an EFI drive and NOT the Default.

 

I tried setting the default via System Prefs Startup Disk but that makes no difference.
The nvram.plist file is updated and there's an entry for BootOrder but looks like OC is not reading it or something else wrong.

I read back the defaults for com.apple.loginwindow LogoutHook and it shows:

Summary settings in config are

Booter->Quirks:
• AvoidRuntimeDefrag: YES,
• DisableVariableWrite: NO
• EnableWriteUnprotector: YES
Misc->Security: ExposeSensitiveData: 15
NVRAM->LegacyEnable: YES

 

So, three problems I need to solve (in priority order):
1. Emulated NVRAM
2. Restart hang
3. Legacy boot file from LegacyBoot utility not working.

 

Any help with getting the Emulated NVARM would be appreciated (or the other issues).
