I ended up disabling AppleSecureBoot and reinstalling Beta 1 overtop. I was able to upgrade from there without issue, and reenabled AppleSecureBoot (with ApECID) afterwards with no issues.
This was on my X1 Extreme, I haven't tried Monterey on my M4700 yet but it should theoretically work since it doesn't use the iGPU

Edit: I've seen some people in other places have luck with disabling AppleSecureBoot and then re-downloading the update in the Software Center (not just booting the installer volume again).
I unfortunately forgot to try that, so perhaps my reinstalling Beta 1 overtop was not necessary.

Edit 2: Looks like they fixed bluetoothd attaching to my USB camera lol

As long as you don't modify the system files in any way as to need to create a new snapshot to retain the changes, nor create a new snapshot and delete the install/upgrade snapshot, you should be able to update incrementally, without a full installer.

I have never tampered with the Sealed Volumes since it's introduction as I found the process cumbersome and convoluted from update to update, meaning as I understood it, having to go through the same process repeatedly to get updates.

your case interests me to analyze!

I only use Clover on all machines and I get 100% installation and update without problems.

could you post your ACPI + Config.plist and Kext for me to see and try to solve you

I use google translator may contain misunderstandings !!!

Anyone with Intel_I225-V and working ethernet? I was getting random crashes and 3 minutes boot time with FakePCIID_Intel_I225-V and FakePCIID kexts.

Disabling both fixed crashes and long boot time.

I had the same issue since Monterey beta1.

Several kexts need new patches to make them working again in Monterey such as FakePCIID, ApplePCIIDE, and so on.

We need patience to wait for them coming as soon as possible !

After updating to the lastes beta of Monterey I noticed that you have to Patch HD4000 again oherwise the screen stays at the boot screen

Did you happen to know which file got deleted or replaced by the upgrade?

You probably have a problem with TSC. Try to use VoodooTSCsync or analog.

I used both of them but nothing seem to work

Both VoodooTSCSync and CpuTscSync are not working in Monterey now which may get KP if used.

Finally got around to doing a fresh install of Monterey on my T480 hackintosh. Install went fine - but upgrading to beta 2 required the latest build of OC and SecureBootModel set to Disabled instead of Default. Afterwards it proceeded normally - before I'd just get a reboot during the first step of the installation.

Bluetooth works fine with Dell DW1830 wifi+bt card and latest BrcmPatchRAM + BlueToolFixup.

18,3 SMBIOS 7700k with rx580. I am in the dev beta 2 would install and (I assume) crash out of the installer and then boot into the disk with "installing X minutes remaining. It would then load into the OS without having updated camp... :/ only solution was to fresh install. I downloaded the install package and it appeared to create a new recovery, from that I resintalled the Dev beta 2. Finally... Betas are Betas for a reason ;)

Upgraded my Comet Lake build (Intel Core i9-10850K, GA-Z490 Vision G, AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT) from Monterey preview to beta 2 without any hiccups whatsoever.

The only operational problem that remains to be resolved is the malfunctioning of the onboard Intel Ethernet-Controller I225-V.

Would appreciate to be notified should somebody manage to get this controller working, I am also currently putting my mind to finding a possible solution and will report back as soon as some progress has been achieved.

Greetings Henties

Upgraded my Z390  build from Monterey preview to beta 2 without any problems.

Except that Finder shows up my Windows internal drive (Gray icon) on the desktop despite Preferences settings (
external only).

Is it only me or is it a bug !

Same for me, I wonder if there is any attribute to set on the Windows partitions to make them recognised as internal in macOS.

EDIT: Actually, this must be a bug. If you type "diskutil list" in the terminal, without the quotes, you can see the windows partitions are internal physical partitions, and still finder thinks they are external. See the image below, it is an example of my Windows disk.

I think it's a bug to me too this happens, I disabled the automount of the disks at boot via fstab

It's doing that here too (Z68 with 6-Series SATA chipset).

All my internal Windows/NTFS drives show up on the desktop as "Unknown (lifs)" format. And some of them have eject icons in the Finder sidebar, while some don't.

My exFat disk does not show up as external only my NTFS drives. Can it be because they are "Read Only"? Or because they are NTFS?

I don't understand the hackintosh world anymore when reading about problems that users, on this forum, are experiencing with upgrading to Monterery,  I am presently successfuly running 4 diverse hackintosh iterations and with none of them did I experience any problems at all with upgrading to Monterey beta 2. What is going on and what are the causes of these, to me at least, inexplicable upgrade problems ???

Regards Henties

I think this was a one-time glitch after the second reboot during install/upgrade. I don't think it was a clover bug.  After the switch to OC to complete the install I went back to clover and had no boot issues.

Why is it that you need VoodooTSCSync at all?  Our systems are so similar but I do not seem to need it.  What condition caused you to install it in the first place, KP after wake from sleep?  I'm really quite curious.

BTW - I found this for Skylake CPUs.  Maybe yours too?  https://github.com/interferenc/TSCAdjustReset

I have the same problem and I solve it by installing Tuxera 2020.1 and replacing Windows HD icon with another one. Without Tuxera you cannot replace the HD icon. It work for me.
