[pre-release] macOS Monterey

It seems the stall of LogInUI window is a dGPU only related bug. System that are using iGPUs only do not get a stall on the LoginUI window. It's not injected kext or DeviceProperties related.

Have you verified this with a real Mac Pro? I've looked through DarwinDumper reports of real Mac Pros and the GPU is always shown in the PCI section.

Some people go to town on populating the PCI section with all their cards and injecting proper device names. But I'm talking specifically about the GPU here.

In any case, my 670 shows up in the PCI section but still doesn't show in the ATM screen. So there may be more to it.

I was talking about iMacs and Air notebooks. Never seen a real Mac Pro.

Read this from Maldon although referred to iMac.
https://www.olarila.com/topic/6096-guide-cosmetics-pci-devices-with-hackintool/

Anyway, I am surprised by the few failures I see in Monterrey even though it is the first beta.

Hi guys,

today I'm at work and I have a real Mac mini 2018, and I installed macOS Monterey in it, after reading this thread I found that the information about the graphics card is shown, as it was in BS...

See below...

Good point, I had to toggle Automatic Login in Users & Groups to get rid of a 30 second delay, now it boots is as fast as BS.

I think I understand why it crashes with kext HS80211Family when starting Monterey, they changed the configurations of the IO80211Family kexts, here is how they are now on Monterey, I am attaching photos.
I think we need to make some changes to the HS80211Family kext that can boot normally and activate the Atheros WIFI card like on Big Sur.

Hi, I'm trying to get the BaseSystem.dmg from ShareSupport.dmg (extracted from InstallAssistant downloaded with gibmacOS), but I'm not able to find it in AssetData/Restore/ (there is just BaseSystem.chunklist. I found in AssetData/payloadv2/basesystem_patches the dmg named x86BaseSystem and arm64eBaseSystem. I tried to convert the first to iso but without success. Was anyone able to do something similar? Thank you in advance.

dGPU is the only device that shows in the PCI Section on my HackPro5,1 (-no_compat_check).

I use a Fenvi BCM94360NG in my Dell Latitude E7270 and did notice a delay of several seconds (10 to 15 maybe) after wake before BT is fully restored and my BT mouse active again.

Any kexts, or native OOB?

EDIT: Answered my own question: no kexts needed for Fenvi BCM94360NG.  Works OOB.

On my Dell 5570 with igpu only, the stall is here. Only way to avoid it is to enable automatic login.

perhaps because still the first beta, let's see if with future updates we can overcome this obstacle and make the Atheros WIFI cards active :)

Does somebody know which Kext this "DriverKit_AppleEthernetE1000" is refering to?:

I am still trying to figure out why this Intel I225 NIC is not working in Mntry

Funny side-note: is this new, or has this always been in there:

@5T33Z0 It's not new.  I've seen it on all my hacks for as long as I can remember (although I have a short memory ;) ).

Spoiler

EDIT: My oldest currently booting OS is High Sierra and it's there.

"Funny side-note: is this new, or has this always been in there

Don't Steal Mac OS X"

Since the very early times of hackintosh, if I remember well.

At the beginning there were dsmos.kext or AppleDecrypt.kext for decrypt binaries and run apps, and @Slice FakeSMC.kext to be able to boot macOS out of a Mac.

dsmos you know from where comes :)

Okay, but more important would be information regarding DriverKit_AppleEthernetE100

@5T33Z0 for 2 years, Apple has announced that it is subscribing to kexts for the benefit of driverkit. Which would explain, maybe, your screenshot.

Some explanation in French. Use Google translate for English

In this I cannot help you, I do not even have that key in IOREG because I use another Intel Ethernet.

It seems that the early history of the hackintosh world is not very interesting to younger people to some younger people, it was nevertheless very interesting and truly exciting.

EDI: It is not correct to generalize. I wrote "to younger people" which is unfair, it must be "to some younger people" because as usual some have that interest and others do not. Sorry.

If my memory serves me, I remember seeing that in my Snow Leopard days but then again my memory is in the age of cobwebs and dust. :)

It is interesting to read in the License file included in Don't steal mac OS X.kext this text that exists since the first Intel Mac:

dsmos existed from as far as Leopard, probably before too. It's ancient stuff and totally off-topic.

Since the first Intel Mac, absent in PowerPC.

OT closed for me too.

Those who enabled automatic login to boot fast as in Big Sur can now disable auto login to type in your password. However you have to change your login photo to Memoji to login fast similar to Big Sur. You will experience animation during your login.

Although it has been commented that the absence of the graphics card in About this Mac is related to AMD dGPUs, I have tried booting with the Intel UHD 630 iGPU and the behavior is the same.
