Common_Sense
It seems that FAKEPCIID and FAKEPCIID_XHCIMUX for enabling multiplexing of EHCI/XHCI USB does not 100% work in macOS Monterey, causes KP in some certain situations. Anyone have a version of the kexts that works on Monterey or a DSDT patch that works for Intel Z87 chipset? Insure all kexts are updated plus you will need to add certain boot args (see some posts for what is needed in boot args as all systems are not the same, it a case of trial and error at this stage). Henties
The present Apple doings are somehow beyond the logic that makes me tick. Big Sur is practically still in beta and now another beta !!! The past year was characterised by never ending "hoppings" from one Big Sur beta to another. While that continues we are now on the beta train with Monterey, not very exciting for me to also jump on that bandwagon at such an early stage. Under the present circumstances, Abple, as a new name for that company seems to me more appropriate. Greetings Henties

miliuco
@Matgen84 Some boot args seen on the screen do not come from config.plist. However, we can't help @tunglamvghy1210 if he does not write a signature with his hardware.
fusion71au
Clean installed macOS Monterey beta1 on my Skylake NUC6i5SYH with OC 0.7.0 and latest Acidanthera kexts as of 6/8/21 (iMac17,1 SMBIOS). I still needed -lilubetaall in my boot args for AppleALC v1.6.1 to work and get audio output. Finally running stable after I disabled loading of FakePCIID.kext & FakePCIID_Intel_HDMI_Audio.kext in my config.plist (these were causing random KPs after 4-5 minutes of the system running)... Spoiler Mostly everything works except HDMI audio/ FakePCIID issue mentioned above. Open Intel Wireless itlwm.kext still OK for the NUC's Intel Wireless-AC 8260. However noticed ProperTree plist editor loads in black screen window 🤔.

So if you have python 2 version try python 3 or vice versa. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

But lasts weeks I was thinking that this year with Monterey our HD 4000, will be deprecated finally, and badly this happens. I tried to put all HD 4000 kexts from Big Sur 11.4 into S/L/E in Monterey volume, also to put it into OC/Kexts, but the same. I read on macrumors forum, that if there is a Nvidia Kepler combined with HD 4000, both two will run OK, but if we have only HD 4000, there is a problem related with WindowServer, that causes and crashes as I attach in the photos. I update from Big Sur 11.4 to Monterey 12.0 DP1 into my Haswell based machine, without any problem, all is running fine, except audio, ALC892, but currently I don´t care about this. So my priority is related with HD 4000 in my 2570P. Currently I´m using your OC creator script, so I am trying to boot up Monterey with the EFI created by your script. Cheers. I think it is something more complex. Edited June 9, 2021 by miliuco

dehjomz
I was having kernel panics every 5 minutes. I can confirm that removing FakePCIID.kext and other related FakePCIID kexts (e.g., Intel i225-V for ethernet) from loading stops the kernel panics. System is now stable. Sleep/wake works now. In fact, I've realized that I don't even need the Fake PCIID kexts anymore: as audio loads with AppleALC, and the built in AppleEthernetE1000.dext loads for my Intel i225-V card... (not that I was using the Intel 2.5 Gbps card anyways). With how visually similar Monterey looks to Big Sur, can anyone confirm or speculate as to the reasons why you're interested or excited in upgrading from Big Sur? I saw the keynote, but I don't see anything all that compelling about Monterey... If you add the Monterey wallpaper *.heic to Big Sur, the two operating systems will look practically the same, although I have noticed some differences in some of the dialog boxes. Some of my Apps don't work yet with Monterey, like Serato. I just want to know some reasons why others are interested in Monterey, I may be missing something. Thanks! zerking
Does any one got a hang for a long while before getting into the login screen? There are a couple of times I've seen Monterey take longer than Big Sur (but not much more, I mean a few more seconds): at logout, the login screen takes longer to appear at shutdown or restart. miliuco
I have observed that on some occasions (sometimes yes, sometimes not) the Apple ID panel of System Preferences does not open with a warning that says it cannot be opened. I have tried several things without finding relation to any so far: Gatekeeper enabled and disabled, different SMBIOS... SIP always enabled. When this happens, the way I have found to get around the problem is by deleting the ~/Library/Preferences/MobileMeAccounts.plist file and the ~/Library/Accounts folder along with the commanddefaults delete MobileMeAccounts. In this way I can open the panel and login into my Apple ID. Does it happen to someone else?
